The Holy Trinity (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) was made up anonymously & added centuries later

A critical Bible passage is in (1 John)
which explicitly sets out the Holy Trinity (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). It is a cornerstone of Christian theology, and this is the only place where it is spelled out in the entire Bible -- but it appears to have been added to the text centuries later, by an unknown scribe.

Like some other foundational Christian doctrines, the Trinity is DEDUCED from Scripture by neccesary consequence, rather than explicitly stated. Here's another example besides 1 John.

In Ephesians 1:3-14 the roles of each member of the Trinity in salvation are described:

The Father has elected (predestined); adopts, and justifies.

The Son has redeemed the elect and secured salvation for them.

The Spirit applies the work of the Son to those the Father has elected, and seals them for eternity.

Matthew 28:19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

This is Jesus speaking to his disciples. His words affirm the reality of the Trinity. As you see here, the concept comes from Jesus himself. The word Trinity does not appear in scripture, but it certainly describes the 3-in-1 nature you have referred to.

Trinity is not specifically mentioned in the Bible but it is taught through out the entirety of the Bible. One must study the Bible not just read the Bible. There are many things hinted at or indirectly made clear. understanding comes when you begin to build line upon line, precept upon precept.

Trinity is a Latin word to thread the understanding that Father, Son, & Holy Spirit are one. it is a simple term applied to a profound truth.

there are various places in the old testament that refer to god in the plural...then you have Jesus saying before Abraham was I am...I think the best place is John 1 as far as spelling it out...as far as it being added I seriously doubt it...The entire old testament refers to it As you say not spelled out but even the prophesies that Jesus fulfilled...all references to Messiah...with references to the trinity allot were written for spiritual understanding...The Jews themselves were waiting for a Messiah....The sacrifice of lambs for the temporary atonement of sin...the story of Abraham and Issac...where Issac was the only begotten son and caring wood for his sacrifice..and being told that God would provide a lamb...Now you could say that the messiah does not have to be deity and many probably would have agreed...but the fact is its the only way to atone for mans sin...all men born of women were under the curse of the law and there death was required as the price of there own sin...therefore could not have atoned for the sin of all mankind...angels and men were all creation and fallible...Lucifer turned on God....If the reason Christ died was to atone for sin he could not have been simply a man...If a man could overcome sin than we would not have needed a savior...we were required by law to do just that....so the fact that Jesus died to atone for sin proves his deity
