If there is only one God and religions contradict each other then just one (or none) of them can be right. Would this mean damnation for the people that are wrong?

Why do people think that their religion is the right one? Why are they so intolerant to the other religions?

Personaly I think that religion is a bad thing and religion fanaticism makes people narrow minded and less tolerant (in the best case) or murderers in the worst.

According to christianity, the purpose of Jesus' life was to come die for our sins (also to teach us a thing or two).

So my question is this:
Why did he came back to life? What would be the point of his sacrifice then be?

Christianity like to proclaim that Jesus was the last sacrifice. The previous sacrifices(lambs and doves) didn't come back to life.

How would Jesus have been laying down his life if he knew he was gona come back to the living?

I am a "christian" BTW.

When Jesus said that he is the WAY, the TRUTH and LIFE what did he actualy mean...Why are people taking this statement he made so literally?

Here's what I believe he meant by those words:
WAY - Follow me and I will lead you to God
TRUTH - Listen to what I teach coz it'l lead you to God
LIFE - Take my life as an example as how to live and it'll lead you to God.

Isn't this the easiest way to be a christian? Why did people have to go add their "doctrines" and ruin the true meaning of christianity?

Christians argue among Christians. All religions argue who is right. If there is a god why not clear rules. I'm sorry the 10 commandments don't cut it. Where is thou shall not enslave people. Where is thou shall treat women as equals. Clear rules for everyone to follow to unite the people!

Can the Bible be trusted? Archaeologists have not been able to disprove the Bible. When the Walls of Jericho were discovered (1930's) they had fallen outward. (When they were made to fall inward towards the city.) Just like the Bible had said. The archaeologists were puzzled because the way they fell made the city of Jericho easy to access. It didn't make sense, unless you read the Bible. Oceanographers found salt in the Black sea and signs that it had happened very fast, (floodlike) their only explanation? The Bible's account of what happened. The great flood. They already know that Jesus exsisted. They already know that he was crucified. And if that's not enough... if you still don't believe that Jesus is the son of God. Then how did he fulfill over 61 prophecies in the old testament that was written several hundred years before he was born? Not so long ago, innocent women and men who practiced healing arts like Reiki where persecuted by Christians and sentenced to death because they viewed holistic arts, such as Reiki, to be of the Devil.

I'm wondering how modern Christians view holistic healing and New Age therapy. Do you still think it's of the Devil, or do you think it has it's place in society?

God said that the only way to him was through Jesus. Does that mean that the people that lived and died before Jesus were all sent to Hell, even if they wanted to commune with God?

I remember that back during my sophmore year in high school there was this new guy in my school right, and I so right away knew he was gay. So then the second semester of Senior yr he said he wasn't gay anymore and I truly believed he was joking, but he was serious and said he had been born again. I mean I know that he is gay because I mean he's only had gay relations, never liked a woman, nor does he feel sexually attracted to them aldough he adores the Queen Madonna lol. It's been 2 yrs since we graduated and his myspace says he is straight lol haha myspace lol, ok but yeah he still claims he is straight. Anyway I mean he is such a great friend and we always accepted him the way he was and never really said anything against it, it is all because of his religion. So yeah how does the "born again" idea work, because to me he will always be gay why can't he be accepted the way he is by his religion?

I have found that nowhere in the Bible Jesus said that he will die for our SINS. He did say "the son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men".

Nowhere did I find that the Pharisees acused the Apostles of heresy. They merely did not LIKE their way of teaching and their popularity.

So my question is this:
Where does the Idea of the "Modern Day Christianity" come from?
Because obviously the Apostles taught Judaism. Also nowhere in Judaism is the concept of "Original Sin" and that forgiveness can only come from true repentace(Confess your sins whole heartedly to God) and the way you live your life(Your actions, Striving to keep the commandmends,etc.)

He has abandoned the love of Christ for the temporary high of sinning.
He has become vein, immoral and his head is filled with fantasies.
He tries to keep some morals so he is not completely taken over.

I was a catholic for 20 years....I went to mass every sunday, read the bible a few times, went to religious camps, joined christian groups(multi faithed christian groups), and took bible classes. Yet the best answer i could give to what the holy trinity is was, "the father, son, and the holy spirit".
It wasn't until university, when i became a student of theology that I came to understand the complexity of the trinity and what it really is....and, most imortantly, why it was INVENTED.
Anyway, its come to my attention that one is only a christian if they believe in the trinity. Yet, ive never met a christian who could tell me what it is. Anyone who claims to be a christian who cant answer this question is bogus. They just like being part of a self-righteous club. I have no qualms with any religion. just the followers who dont know what they are preaching.
