No....we are not bound to what we can/cannot read/see. Better we read and talk about it then say so without reading. Unless you rather not have such things in your head. I have not read it, but my SIL has and she is a Christian.
God judges us by His Law not man made laws. His law is the Ten Commandments. Nothing should/could persuade us otherwise.
What unsaved people do not realize is we have no boundaries of what we can/cannot do. We have convictions that warn us of the consequences of doing what would be sinful in God's eyes.
Far as I am concerned: this book is just another way of trying to make a fool out of Christ. I don't have to read/see it to know a devil when I hear of one.
We have been warned by Godly people. Even if you do read/see it, mature Christians know the truth.
It is SAD that people will be led down the wrong path that do not yet know the truth.
New Christians may just get confused as they are still in the learning stages of growing in Christ. Better IF they see it to search for the truth as they read their Bible.
Satan is the author of confusion. So we already know who is behind it.

The DaVinci code is a fiction story based on some facts that were discovered. Are they true? No one knows? If they are you could understand why the catholic church would want to hide it. It does make you think a bit about Jesus having a relationship with Mary Magdalene..having kids...marrying her.....but at the end of the day we have faith, we have what we believe in, there are always going to be challenges to any belief...the question is are we going to listen to them and change what we believe in b/c other people say so? Or are we going to hang onto our belief and continue to have faith?? The choice is up to you.

It depend on how you look at it. As a work of fiction or a documentary. Personally people should look at it as a work of fiction based on some facts. This way the views will be more subjective. I am open to all faiths, including christianity. I feel Jesus christ was a great person who lived 2000 years ago. Irrespective of whether the Da Vinci code is true or not, I believe in Christ and his teachings. And, I liked the book as a good read and it did not hurt my sentiments.

I think people fail to constantly realize that The Da Vinci Code is a FICTIONAL book. Dan Brown even has a "disclaimer" before the book even begins that it is a fictional book. But the artifacts such as the painting of Mona Lisa in the Louvre are real.

I can see why people are threatened by it. The book has been a best seller and it uses very strong evidence. But it was made up! And all this hype has gotten people to examine such petty ridiculous minute details.

You're fine. You're not going to hell for watching the Da Vinci Code.

True faith is unmovable. The DaVinci Code is but fiction. However, It is a good book and highly recommendable. Whatever was written, the reader has the final judgement.

I heard one opinion that if you look at it as fact it is dangerous, but if you view it as fiction it is not. Then also if God has called some people to read it or watch the movie in order to go and teach other believers about its lies then good. However, if you have not been called to do that and you take interests in even watching that on a personal level. Why would you want to hurt Christ your Love and Savior by taking interest in something that is not of Him but that is just like when we give into sin and sin does bring us further from God which is the purpose of Christ to reconcile us back to God. So I am saying if you give into doubt, sin and disbelief it will hurt you from getting closer to God. Also I want to add some people try studying other faiths and beliefs so much they get lost in it and don't spend time with God. Love you, God Bless and Keep you.

Not if your faith is strong, and you know how to seperate fact from fiction.
I'm a Christian and I research stuff like that all the time.
The Gnostic gospels really interest me, although many christians say that you shouldent touch that stuff I love to learn. It makes my strength stronger.
I'm going to read the DiVinci code, I'm waiting untill my mom is done with the book.

Those who are blown in any direction because they are unfounded in their Christian relationship with Jesus Christ could be misled by the DaVinci Code or lesser works, but when one is secure in their relatioship with Jesus Christ, nothing will persuade them otherwise.

If you are a REAL Christian, it won't hurt your faith... The DA Vinci Code is fiction... it never claimed to be true and factual... why should something that is froma man's creative mind hurt that which is REAl and TRUE?

Of course not! It's only a movie to me. Don't tell me that a 2-hour movie can destroy the foundation of your belief nurtured for years.
Though I admit that it's blasphemous, it will never make a dent in my christian faith.
