Can the Bible be trusted? Archaeologists have not been able to disprove the Bible. When the Walls of Jericho were discovered (1930's) they had fallen outward. (When they were made to fall inward towards the city.) Just like the Bible had said. The archaeologists were puzzled because the way they fell made the city of Jericho easy to access. It didn't make sense, unless you read the Bible. Oceanographers found salt in the Black sea and signs that it had happened very fast, (floodlike) their only explanation? The Bible's account of what happened. The great flood. They already know that Jesus exsisted. They already know that he was crucified. And if that's not enough... if you still don't believe that Jesus is the son of God. Then how did he fulfill over 61 prophecies in the old testament that was written several hundred years before he was born? Just for him to fulfill 8/61 of them the chances are 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000-(Scholar Peter Stonner) He fulfilled them all!

Not only did Jesus fulfill over 61 prophecies that were written before his time but he even told us about future events that have come to pass. You’d have to be a total idiot to not see this! The majority of the people that Bible bash have never picked up the Bible and read it before… & if they have… it’s only bits and pieces… enough to where they think they can ridicule it. The Bible says “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” & “The beginning of knowledge is to fear the Lord.” Obviously there are a ton of ignorant people out there!

And if you say… well… the Bible says that and it’s not true. Well then check out these statistics… dear… The way that archaeologists know how accurate an ancient manuscript is… is how soon the second copy was written. For example, Homer’s The Illiad is considered to be the 2nd most accurate ancient manuscript ever found. It had over 643 copies hand written. (They obviously hand wrote all of their documents) Do you know what the time frame was between the first original copy and the second copy????? 500 years! The Bible had over 24000 hand written manuscripts found… GUESS HOW MUCH TIME WAS IN BETWEEN THE ORIGINAL AND THE SECOND COPY???? 25-35 YEARS! Which makes it THAT much more accurate! Only about 30 years! So, obviously it’s accurate.

Also, about the so called “hidden” gospels… there are no such things. They aren’t hidden. You can go into the library and check them out. Also, they are not relevant to the Holy Bible because #1 the Bible says that the word is the one and only truth. #2 All of the gospels were written by that particular person… i.e. John wrote John etc. Well… the “hidden” gospels weren’t written by the people that they are named after… in fact they are written by people that were born hundreds of years after that person. So they are irrelevant. Hope you all read with your “open” minds and realize that maybe you DON’T know what you are talking about. Try doing a bit of research.

Oh.. and BTW Christianity means to be like Christ. But people were serving God waaayyy before Christ was sent to this earth. So remember that when you say that Christianity came later. Because the living God has ALWAYS been and will Always be.

We do have faith. Proof is for the non-believers. That is who I am directing this to. Non-believers. Therefore, they always want proof. Get it?

Your right.
It has not always been Christianity. They could not become Christ Like in the Old Testament. They were Believers.

There were not Christians during Jesus life here on earth. Why?
Jesus lived in what age? Mosaic age under the Mosaic Law. That's why Jesus was baptized. Jesus Himself referred to "The age to come". What age is that? The Christian age. It became Christian age after His dissension to heaven and he sent the "comforter", in Acts Ch.2:38, The day of Pentecost. It became Christian age that moment.
That's why people misunderstand, the unforgivable sin. Jesus did say Blasphemy was unforgivable, but Jesus said it under the Law of Moses. Paul said:, Don't be like Me, a former blasphemer. Paul was forgiven. Why? He lived under the Christian age when your saved by Repentance.
This is excatly why there is NO unforgivable sin.

Have a good week.

Every point you touch is really contentious.
I think Jesus was a historical person.
But the walls of Jericho just plain did not fall the way the Bible says.. those archaeological "facts" from 1930 have been refuted.
Alot of biblical "evidence" poisons the well of research looking for something that's not there. I'm sure the red sea could have black salt on the bottom by some other means -.-

I mean the evidence on those walls presents a problem: IF they didn't fall the way the book says.. then what happens to the "perfect" word of God? That's the problem with evolution, and every other historical defect. That book is so intolerant to anything but absolutes. Which is a fault. If the walls fell the wrong way, the whole book becomes... false.

Yeah, you just appealed to a authority, so I'm going to put up an excerpt from Wikipedia:

The exact sequence and dating of these remains is difficult and highly debated. John Garstang working in the 1930s concluded that the city had been destroyed in around 1400, after which it had been left uninhabited. Significantly he suggested that the walls could have been destroyed by an earthquake. Kathleen Kenyon noted 15 different destructive episodes in the Bronze Age remains.[citation needed] She disagreed with Garstang's dating, and dated the destruction he had found close on 1000 years earlier. She did find a much later destruction but concluded it was circa 1550. From 1550 to about 1200 the site was virtually a ghost town and even after 1200 it was inhabited for some time on a modest scale. Kenyon's conclusions while by no means undisputed are the current orthodoxy among archeologist's. (It Aint't necessarily so, Mathew Sturgis with John McCarthy p56-59)

The Biblical account of its destruction is found in the Book of Joshua. The Bible describes the destruction as having proceeded from the actions of Joshua, Moses' successor. Biblical researchers who use Scriptural genealogies to date the exodus to the 16th or 15th century BC see this as significant support for the veracity of the record, and a landmark in the Biblical archaeology corpus. Other scholars see a contradiction between history and the biblical text in this area, as the earliest known Israelite settlements do not appear until ca.1230 BC, long after Jericho's walls had already been destroyed. Indeed some archeologist's such as Bill Dever are scathing about the historicity of Joshua's capture: "...if you want a miracle, here's your miracle: Joshua destroyed a city that wasn't even there". (It Aint't necessarily so, Mathew Sturgis with John McCarthy p61)

Thank you... I love for people with knowledge to share, in stead of making a mockery of christianity.
I'm not talking just of who you are talking of... there are alot of people on here who have no clue, and try to answer questions... i was thinking earlier... that they try their best with the information they have, but sometimes it just makes it worse...
if i want to answer a question and I don't know the answer I simply don't answer and find out for myself...
