Not so long ago, innocent women and men who practiced healing arts like Reiki where persecuted by Christians and sentenced to death because they viewed holistic arts, such as Reiki, to be of the Devil.

I'm wondering how modern Christians view holistic healing and New Age therapy. Do you still think it's of the Devil, or do you think it has it's place in society?

I took Reiki Classes for a few months but the place where I received treatment was definately "strange". My RM had an alter set up with candles and pictures of Dr. Mikao Usui. I lay beneath a crystal in the middle of a circle. I suffer from Chronic migraines I was desperate, and I tried everything. I was a pagan at the time. My Reiki classes, and my treatments provided no releif from my headaches, and as time went on the grew worse.

When I opened my heart to the Lord, I stopped going to Reiki classes, I'm not sure if Reiki is wrong or not, but I'm sure that the place I was going to was. In my heart I knew I was not supposed to go there anymore. God's comfort provided more healing than any Reiki treatment I received.

I do think 'New Age' is wrong, but many of the healing techniques, have been around for thousands of years.

I think that Reiki can be good, if it comes from God.

Healing has been around a lot longer than new age therapies, I had Reiki treatments by a Christian woman who used the natural that God has provided us along with the power of the Holy spirit and calming spiritual music to work through her - there were times that she could not as one or the other of us had sins that were blocking our ability to allow God to work through her or to allow restoration to come to my body - I have not been healed but did find great relief from what God worked through her. So, yes, as there were years that the Christian religion did not believe in any kind of "healing" heaven help us - those who truly believed in Jesus Christ and his Word as my Preacher Daddy did, knew that was all we had - by Christ stripes are we healed. The way and means we may never know or understand and there are practices a person has to make sure of before allowing because they are religions and a Christian would not want to be a part of that.

The( physical healing) of hands died off when the last apostle of christ died off. the ones that performed miracles were the chosen ones that were with Jesus when he was on the scene at that time. As this was who he was giving these instructions to, Matt 10:8.... To prove this, in that verse it also say's raise dead people, who today have done such NONE. If you think people can heal back then according to that scripture then they also should be able to physically raise the dead now also right? cant do it .. it shows that the gifts of raising the dead & physically the laying of hands healing was given to the apostles of that time. the only healing thats being done now is spiritual healing with that of understanding of the truth and his up coming kingdom.Dan. 2:44 & Matt 6:9.

God is the only true healer so if you are not healed in the name of Jesus Christ, watch out. There are dementions in the spirit world. If you are in the 4th demention and you are trying to heal someone and you are not of God, you can still heal them because the Devil also has the power to heal...

I just think it doesn't work. Bad science. If "alternative" treatments were proved to work by double blind testing they would become orthodox.
Sorry bibbly bobbly nonsense that's all. The same goes for "Christian" healing itI mean just how many people have one leg that needs lengthening.
