"In the US, the First Amendment guarantees a relatively unlimited right of free speech, although some US states still have blasphemy laws on the books. Chapter 272 of the Massachusetts General Laws states, for example:

Section 36. Whoever wilfully blasphemes the holy name of God by denying, cursing or contumeliously reproaching God, his creation, government or final judging of the world, or by cursing or contumeliously reproaching Jesus Christ or the Holy Ghost, or by cursing or contumeliously reproaching or exposing to contempt and ridicule, the holy word of God contained in the holy scriptures shall be punished by imprisonment in jail for not more than one year or by a fine of not more than three hundred dollars, and may also be bound to good behavior."

Fortunately for all of us these state laws were declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. And the Court will do the same thing to people who try and poison government with religion.

In this parable, is Jesus comparing the priests and elders to the first son, the second, or neither? Also, if He asked me the question in v. 31, I would've said the first son, like they did. Was He saying that that answer is incorrect, or is that beside the point? Thanks!

Matthew 21
28 “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’
29 He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went.
30 Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir,’ but he did not go.
31 Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to Him, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward relent and believe him."

Atheists, or those who believe only in the scientific theories of creation (i.e. big bang theory, evolution etc).

If we evolved from apes, what did apes evolve from. And what did those things evolve from? If you believe the Big Bang theory, what/who put the very first particles in place to combine and form the world as we know it?

This is a very serious question to me, because I am not religous, I do believe in those ideas of our evolution, however, that question leaves me to rely entirely on my spiritual beliefs, that there MUST be something else. Something powerful enough to plant the tiniest seed to grow all of life from. Am I missing some information?

Most of the people that ask these questions seem to be just looking for a fight, or are they actually begging for someone to show them the way to God? They could just open the bible or go to a non-denominational church for the answers. So if they are already set in their ways, why do they ask the yahoo answer community, people they don't even know, about it? Either way Religion sure does get a lot of answers...

A.) Drown them the way God did during Noah's time

B.) Burn them to death like Soddam and Gamorah

C.) Turn them into pillars of salt like Lot's wife

D.) Brutally murder them like all the first born son's of Egypt

E.) Plague them to death like God did to the rest of the Egyptians

F.) Roast them in a lake of fire like God has done to millions of people so far

I really want to follow God's examples from the Bible, so which one would be best? Thanks!

Let's take out insects to make it a little easier. Even then, if he could get 50 species (100 animals) per minute onto the ark and in there proper spot, it would take over a month to get the land animals onto the ark. This is working 24 hours/day at that. Also, think about the amount of food needed for these animals, and the fact that many of them are only in specific parts of the world. Not to mention they all made it back to their specific homes. Now doesn't that seem a little irrational? The bible is a farce.

I don't feel that it is because young children often believe what their parents and other adults in their life tell them, regardless of whether they offer any evidence or justification whatsoever. Later, such children are much less likely to question these teachings, regardless of whether or not they are compatible with their own judgment and experiences. But clearly, many people disagree with me. Why? Why is it ethical to take away a child's right to choose their own system of beliefs?

My guess is that you would try to stop it right away. In that moment, would you be more ethical than God who does not stop children from being molested?

Many Christians believe that the Bible is the ONLY authority for Christians. But did it fall from heaven? Someone had to put the Bible together. Wouldn't there have had to been another authority that actually chose and put the different books in the Bible together?

I was very worried yesterday about how God would view my interest in potato salad and its long-term effect on my capability for the Final Ascension. But I caved and ate the potato salad and then Al-Zarqawi was exploded into pieces by 2 500-pound bombs, effectively ending his own personal opportunity to eat his own potato salad. Of course, now I have to wonder if my consumption of potato salad yesterday might have provided the Divine One with guidance to turn Al-Zarqawi into bird chum, and whether potato salad might be the true inside track to buddy-buddy with the Father of All Things Potato. I need to know since I'm thinking about that potato salad again today, and whether there ought to be someone else in the target of Daddy Potato Salad too. For the life of me, I can recall no specific reference to potato salad in the bible or the quran or the good book, or any other book save Martha Stewart or Betty Crocker for that matter. Is potato salad the real Way, Truth and Life to seek
