Why is there such a big movement in many Christian faiths against gay people? I can understand the movement against abortion, as Christians see abortion as murder, but what is the big deal about being gay? Sure, if you interpret some parts of the Bible a certain way, being gay is a sin. But if you interpret other certain parts of the Bible (particularly the Old Testament) a case for slavery can be made as well. The points that the Bible is definitive about (such as the 10 commandments or the seven deadly sins) make no mention about being gay as far as I can tell. If people get so worked up about such minor points in the Bible, why not get worked up about the major ones. There is no apparent Christian outrage against adultery (which would break one of the 10 commandments) or being fat (gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins), so why be so outraged at gay people?
