Some people just like to label others. Some also think they are superior to others that don't think, act or believe as they do. The truth is that by labeling everyone else, they don't have to look inside and figure out what labels fit them! It is far easier to assume things about others than to face their own shortcomings.
Don't worry about them. Just live your life in the best way you know how. Treat others as you want to be treated and don't worry about those that are narrow minded, judgmental, etc. As long as you are doing your best and being your best, that is all that matters.

I totally agree with you, I love my peace and quiet, and I certainly don't and won't try to force my beliefs on anyone, some of these atheists, don't believe in a God(My Heavenly Father), or any God for that matter, yet they act like they worship Satan.
One Atheist the original "Jim_darwin", said I was bitter. the truth is, I'm not.
Why do these atheists target Christians, not Muslims, Taoists, Shintoists, Buddhists or Hindus or any other Religion, for that matter?
This_one_dude, also needs a mirror.
Could atheists be considered the Anti-Christ?
YES!

Because there are allot of bigoted christians out there in the world stirring it up and making it hard on the rest of us that just want to love others and share the Gospel. Zeolots...wish I were one..at least in the tradtional notion of the term. Maybe if I were more on fire for God I wouldn't care what people thought of me and just Jesus Phreak out all over the place...but we wanna be cool and approved of don't we so we? So we water down our faith and try to blend in with the rest of the world when God told us to step out of it. Yeah..I wish I were a Zealot...life is too short to walk on eggshells. I'd rather offend someone then have the message go unheard...as well, shouldn't my walk, my life, my talk reflect that of what I believe? Yes it should..thanks for asking this question..these issues need to be pondered. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

Saddly some Christians ARE bigots and zealots! The most obnoxious are those who recently had a conversion experience and want to SHARE, or should I say PUSH their fundamentalist, evangelical Protestant version of Christianity on other people.....even other Christians!
Usually people recover from "convertee syndrome" and mellow out a bit, but some stay like that forever and can become impossible to communicate with.

Most Christians leave themselves open to criticism because they know very little about their own religion. They spout ideas they do not understand, they attend "bible study" classes taught be people as ignorant as themselves, and with almost no thought, they behave in ways inconsistent with the teaching they purport to believe.
The downfall of the American education system which has been so wimpy about insisting that students actually learn something, has brought us to this state where people can be manipulated by those who present themselves as moral leaders. Cicero said that the most pious politician can get away with the most bad behavior (hiding behind his religion). So it is today.
We need to learn, read, investigate, stretch our minds, work, and discriminate - between ideas, not people- not accept, feel, trust, or believe without understanding. Unfortunately, most Christians and their churches do not encourage such behavior.

They are not talking about people like you, you seem very sane, but a lot of the people who come on here representing Christianity are really not and that's why many people see Christians as stuck up or uneducated. More Christians like you should come on here and let people know more about you and your beliefs, show them they are wrong, that's the only way to change the label or take it off completely.

Most Christians are not bigots or zealots ... but the ones that are are particularly vocal and grotesque.
People like Fred Phelps and followers in Kansas protesting gay rights in the military by going to funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq; or people who bomb or applaud the bombing of abortion clinics, or people here on Y!Answers like that guy who asked if we should nuke all muslims (kill 300 million people) and then recited the Lord's Prayer ... or even the ones who ridicule evolution and evolutionists when they evidently don't understand it (also a form of zealotry).
However, although these are the visible ones, there are plenty of Christians who are the first to condemn such behavior as being inherrently un-Christian.

Well it seems that the people who do so, want to have their say and claim that they are doing so under freedom of speech. Yet whenever someone that doesn't agree with them says something contrary to what they believe or questions them, they suddenly go on the offensive and attack the Christians. Look how the homosexual movement is about this. They want to have their say but no one else is entitled to say anything about them unless it agrees with them. Basically it boils down to this. These people just want to silence those who have chosen to follow the only and only true God and stop them from promoting His teachings.

Just like calling all gays sinners and calling all Muslims terrorists, there are always people who will stereotype the whole group because of the views and opinions that are formed inspite of actually taking the time to really know and try to understand some of those people.

Because people are flawed... no matter what your religion.
Pride is the downfall of anyone, Christian or not. When you identify with a particular group that is SUPPOSED to be known for their humility and love, you are basically asking to be called out by others as failing in that love and humility. Even if you truly are no worse than others who do not identify themselves as Christians.
