Women have been discriminated against yet in the western world the pendulum has certainly swung against men. This list is in no way complete.

Men make up only 43% of college grads in the US. Men face much harsher penalties for the same crime. Men lose big in divorces and hardly ever get the kids. Men make up very few teachers, nurses, veterinary and pharmacy students yet there is no cry to get more. When something is male dominated there is a mad dash for more women. Men are often victims of false accusations which there is no real penalty for. Several times more money is spent on womens health yet men on average live 6 years less and are 4 more times more likely to commit suicide. Only men can be drafted. There are government agencies dedicated to women and their health but none for men. Violence against men is not only seen as acceptable but funny.

I bet people will be sarcastic but this is real. So I ask men and women who really believe in equality, what will you do?

My friends all have husbands who make a lot of money, well more than my husband does. We are not struggling financially. Its just that when we go out and things its as if they feel like they have to pay our way or pay for dinner. I told my husband that it was starting to piss me off because we're not broke. Ugh it gets on my nerves because sometimes they act like they are so high class and we're not, as if we cant afford to go out to certain places w/ them. Theyre renting a trailor and we're buying our own house, thats all im gonna say. Have you gone through this before?

Now we have a banned word why we can NOT ban a word.

I am going through job hunting right now, and at the beginning of the process, I went into the career center to go over my resume and edit it and the career counselor said he liked me because i was "very real". He did seem to enjoy my company even though i wasn't really doing anything entertaining or amusing, i didn;t think. I didn't really ask him what he meant, i just said, thanks. I was really flattered when he said that, even though i'm not sure exactly WHAT he was talking about, but it sounded like a good thing...:-)
I thought if this is to be taken as a compliment, maybe i can use it during my interviews when they ask me to describe myself.

questions:
-do you know what this means, when someone tells you that?
-is this the opposite of saying someone is "phony" or is it kind of different?
-do you think i can apply this to my interviewing process, in terms of describing my positive qualities?

How come people always pledge that they won't do drugs, but they start with pot and move to heavy drugs? Why do they do this when they know it ruins your future? You can end up losing your job and friends!

I'm having thoughts about joining a particualt organization.First one of the members she goes by sexy something, and I went to go meet the members for a meeting, anf she says "I'm going to be the only sexy one here" and then there was another time where she came up to me and asked "How come I'm always mopping when she see me" Then there was another case where we ran into each other and I smiled and said Hi and she told me she likes me after I told some funny joke, and she told me to wipe that smile off my face because she is not my friend..so I should keep that in mind..I had glanced at another member and she yelled" What are you staring at" and I'm like damn.plus there was other girls there that told me that took their hats off to me , because of the fact that I still was trying to become a member..but I got accepted and declined..but now I want to join a different sorority, but everyone says don't do it because I submitted an application to tthe first sorority..

the sheer basis of everything in this world, concerning human life in any way possible...is our notion of good and bad. there was once this saint called Padmasambhava, who killed his family, indulged in sensual pleasures with his family members and urinated wherever he pleased. He didn't have notions of good and bad. Everything for him just was what it was. He did what he felt like doing. Babies do the same. Until we potty train them, and train them to behave in society and adopt certain roles. Is it for order in society or just a community belief?

Are women more likely to get angry at their coworkers than men are?

It seems that many women seem to be constantly angry with their coworkers over petty or minor disagreements - while most men seem to be able to totally forget about minor workplace arguments when they go home at the end of the day.
