What have been some of your experiences in local stores and resturants? Do you feel satisfied with the service you receive as a customer?

Absolutely not, especially on the phone. Telephone customer service. I find it very irritating when America screams about moving telephone customer service overseas but then provides rude, bad attitude, ignorant service on the phone with local people. Give me an educated, polite, Filipino or Indian (or anyone) anyday over a rude person who hates their job and just wants to get off the phone.

By the way, if anyone wants to figure out how to skip the endless menus in phone customer service, try this website

I don't have high expectations or standards for customer service. Those who work in those positions are making min., wage (not by choice) and are putting up with tons of crap behind the scenes from their bosses and peers.

I worked in customer service for many years, so I know about the low pay and the disrespect people in these positions receive. If I had to support a family on that, I won't be a happy, goal oriented person either. It's not a sunny disposition in life to be in.

I actually feel bad for these people and try to make their jobs a little easier by being polite and understanding.

After I went to Russia, I decided that I would never complain about American customer service ever again.
Oh the stories about Russia. Let's see. The typical:
The check-out lady is sitting at the check-out stand. I go up with my items ready to buy. She tells me she can't help me because she is on break. She's not doing anything but sitting there, but is unwilling to ring my things up for another fifteen minutes. There is no other employee in the store at the time.
Then the one with one of my friends who spoke Russian. He finds a store which has mac&cheese. He is excited and gets it all. Later he comes back to the store and asks the lady when they're going to get mac&cheese again. Her reply: "Why would I get it if you're just going to buy it all?"
Well, that's Russian economy for you. They definitely have a different way of thinking. Don't get me wrong, I liked it there, but like I said, I'll never complain about American customer serivce ever again.

the subject is there is one among these severe turnover fee that managers don't have time giving youths a classification in customer provider. in the event that they do, it is many times some software written via the coorporation that the guy performs around with on a software for half-hour. part of someone's concepts-set won't be able to truly learn in a single day the two. I discovered a thank you to be friendly while you evaluate it rather is how my mum and dad raised me. Plus, the shopper interplay in many cases won't be able to final long adequate to make "small communicate." it is rather useful to chit chat with regards to the climate, however the guy (who could be a constructive and well mannered) in the back of you will possibly be able to desire to be starving and only needs some food.

Very rarely. Once we went to a restaurant where the waitress was to recieve a 15% gratuity tip for tables with more than 6 people. No big deal right? Omg, I had to get up 3 times to ask for drinks, forks, and to get refills on drinks. I think she got a $20 tip for doing nothing. I should be a waitress.
