Why do they judge people before they know them?

Human nature I guess. I have been guilty of doing that. If I like the person the rumor is about I will ignore it. If I dont like the person I will like him or her less.and if a person who the rumor is about hurt me or my family I will add to the fuel and help spread that rumor like wild fire!
