I hate the word..it's either boyfriend/girlfriend or fiance/fiancee
or husband/wife.
That's how it used to be and it worked well.Partner was used for business only.
I will never refer to anyone as someone's partner and I always correct people when they say it.
It's mostly co-habiting chavs that use it I find.

I used to be very shy and have low esteem. As I am now of an age when I have to sit lots of interviews and interact with people I have worked on my confidence levels to a point that I am happy with. I also try to be as true a gentleman as I can, not only in my conduct (rising when a lady enters the room, for example) but also in my general outlook and demeanour.

I fear that I may be coming across as arrogant because of this, though; I am not, as I abhor arrogance as a general trait, but feel that other people may see me as being arrogant.

How can I combat this assumption, as it is a label I really, really don't want?

Thanks!

I know that sincerity must be genuine and to play at being something you are not is seen as false, but I am truly kind and thoughtful, considerate and polite, yet I seem to generate a aurora that people dislike immediately.
I used to try too hard and I figured that put people off, but I have long since stopped being so stressed and unhappy about it. Nontheless I would still like to be the sort of person people were drawn to.
Can anyone tell me what I may being doing wrong?

**IF** you like you man shaved, what you do you think of a boyzilian? It is a brazilian wax for men. Much softer and smoother than shaving or creams. Do you like a it all gone or a little left? What shape?

If you don't like men shaved down there, then no point in answering this question right?

I know and i admit that i was and am a nerd in year 10. I do not have a girlfriend and have never had one. I come home from school and study and do homework and then dinner and ten bed. I rarely go out with friends, only in my free time, and I am not in the best shape, due to the lack of exercise. I think to myself why is life so unfair. I see boys in my school who don't care about school, they life life to the fullest. They have a social life, they go to parties, they have billions of friends, they go out all the time. They are fit and have 6 packs. I feel jealous sometimes. They don't have to work hard, study and do so much work all the time, they spend all their time socializing, having girlfriends, and having fun. But what about people like me, we work hard every day of the week, but we don't have so much of a social life, because we don't get time. Why is it so unfair. They don't do anything, and have a life which is fun at the fullest but we have a boring life. SO what do we get?

Superstitions are like the soul's comfort food, especially for performers.

Do you know any Performer's Superstition?
Let's make this something that revolves around performers, public speakers etc.
Perhaps one's personal regime? If you're a performer - athlete/ actor/dancer/musician/public speaker/singer/something else do you have any practices?

One of the fun parts here would also be trying to grope for our rational excuses.

It would be lovely if we could hear how your rituals/traditions began.

And this is just for the fun of it, our irrationalities and all.
Cheers, all.

(We'll allot different questions for general superstitions and superstitions for like taking exams and things.)

I was in England for a short time and find that the young teens there are very ill manored. I sure hope it is not that way when I go to the USA.

What area of public and private life in America is NOT in turmoil? From governmental scandals and failures to an increasing lack of personal responsiblity among citizens, there are danger signs in every direction. Do you think a breaking point of some kind is near?
