I agree with much of what the second respondent pointed. However, I still consider myself to be something of a nationalist-maybe a disgrunted one-since the pursuit of a voice in Ottawa along with political and economic reform is not the same as separatism.

Personally, I have had enough of Quebec's bitching-something that the French have always been good at. Don't get me wrong-I like them as people but I would love to shove a maple tree up the butt of Gilles Duceppe.

You ask an age old question that everyone in the West asks. Western Canadians know about BC and what's going on there. It's the majority of Canadians (Easterners) that don't, and really don't care either.

There's a real East-West divide in this country. There's only one road that connects Ontario and Manitoba... did you know that? It's just like the NEP in Trudeau's time. Most Easterners thought that it was great becuase it benefited them. It destroyed Alberta's oil sector for a while, but that didn't really matter becuase Alberta votes don't matter.

That's all it really is. Politicians ignore the West becuase we don't the power to really stop them. As long as the East gets more seats in parliament, no matter who is in power, it'll never change.

I say Western Canada should separate. Think about it, we'd have virtually no problems, and would probably keep more of our money where it belongs.

What are BCers? We probably don't care, though.
