It is a Franzl Lang song. I'm thinking "Holladaratata" is just some made up word, but I don't know. Don't bother putting this in a translator - it shows that it means "who knows the know"

I've seen a lot of alphabets, and can recognize most of them. But this one I've never seen before. I think it's some Indian alphabet, or from somewhere in Southern Asia. I'm looking for the name of the language and the alphabet.

If we want to talk about somebody but don't know if he or she is a male of female, we have to use "he or she said...", "...at her or his house", "...for her or him", ....
It's very annoying, why not invent a third gender?

Please tell me what are the Greek and Latin words for AIR, WIND, SOUL, SPIRIT and INSPIRATION. It would be great if quite a few synonyms were also provided. If possible, then please provide English phonetics for pronunciation help.

The child is 13 years old. Would you say "ВЫ" or "ТЫ" when meeting the child for the first time?

I know which one is more polite, obviously, but since it's a child, I'm not sure that the formal is necessary.

I teach ESL, and I'm struck by the different linguistic representations of natural sounds. In English a dog 'woof, woof's', in Chinese he 'Wa'wa's (which in English is what babies do). I can't begin to imagine other linguistic representations of this simple natural sound. I'm sure dogs are more unilingual than we humans, or not? Duh?

When forming a sentence in past tense how do we determine with which verb we will use "etre" or "avoir". For example with verbs like naitre, aller ,monter, arriver, venir, enterer, passer, rester, partir, sortir, decendre, tomber, mourir etc we use etre, but how do we determine this?

These all verbs are from the 1st group i think?

Merci:)

My Boyfriend & his family speak a Different Language. They ALL know English- but prefer to speak their language in their house... which makes me left in the Dust!! I have NO clue what they are ever talking about. I've voiced a concern to my boyfriend and they will speak in English every once in a while- but not much. They had a lot of family members over yesterday and it was like 15 to 1 being ME. Everyone was speaking their language and I felt like I was not in the room. No clue what they would say.. I would say "What did he say" when everyone would laugh but I am kinda sick of this!! I hate always feeling left out!

Is this mean of me to wish they would speak in English when I am around? Or is it Rude of them to not think about my feelings?
