I feel silly asking this, but I'm not versed in languages or even in cultures. I've always been curious as to whether or not most Asians -- Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc. -- can understand each other on some levels. Being that I'm Canadian living in Northern Ontario, I am fluent in both French and English. I noticed many, many similarities in all Latin-based languages -- French, Spanish, Italian, and even English. Is this so with Asian languages? And also, being that Russia is a part of Asia, is the Russian language at all similar to the other "Asian" languages? And slightly unrelated -- are their cultures at all similar? I apologize for being so obviously naive, but I've always been interested in knowing. THANK YOU!!! =)

A box of candy is nothing but a box of toothache gummies. you are one of the only four persons that i remember from houston. if you don't add me, a part of my past will be gone forever. will you be my friend? if you don't want to, at least mail me back. it's not polite to not answer your mail.

I`d like to have a good list of reasons listing the most important answers for a university student.
I came up with my own list. However, i'd like to have more well-rooted reasons to tell.

Is it a lack of basic education or inbreeding?

I'm sick of trying to answer questions from Americans who cannot spell and or use incorrect words to try in their feeble attempts to put their point or question across.

Most of their questions could be answered by using a simple search engine and most of the rest should be sorted out first with their other juvenile playground friends.

Is it any wonder people like myself take advantage of your bad grammar and spelling to give us a laugh?

I am ESL
Just wondering, I often heard people merge the syllables when pronouncing English words, is this acceptable and common?

Such as the other day, I heard my teacher speak:
"a mi no" acid as "am min no" acid
(merging am and min together)
also words like:
"ma ni pu late" or "man ni pulate"
"com pa ny" or "com pan ny"
etc.
I am confused. Appreciate a lot if someone can clarify :)
