I want to study a language I know nothing about at University and that would be Arabic. Will this get me jobs? Where are the big Arabic language communities in USA? What other language is Arabic most like?

Although it is good to be bilingual by learning other languages like Spanish are good, studies show that people that know Arabic or Mandarin Chinese make plenty of extra money and do open up more job opportunity.

Arabic is similar to Hebrew and Amharic in Ethiopia. While there ARE communities of Arabs all over the world, most of the REAL Arab work needed is overseas in Middle Eastern Countries

Asalam wr wb - Really it's your choice - Learning the Qur'an makes one familiar with pronounciation. - Memorizing a good portion of the Qur'an takes little time if you really trt whereas learning a new language takes years. - There is immediate reward in reciting Qur'an. - Helps a person pray taraweeh/ tahajjud or any other salah longer meaning one gains even more immediate reward. - Being familiar with classical Arabic text and speech helps one to learn the language itself. - etc. :)

they seem to need translators badly now but i am not sure for how long so it might be over before you learn it. English and French seem to be the global languages used most for business so you might look into that.

actually u should if they see u have learned a unique languge they might want you to translate if they ever need to translate something in arabic

Learn Spanish ..it will get you somewhere . Arabs will mostly deal with muslims and are conners.

it's not that commonly used.But it always comes in handy to know another language.
