Hi, I'm Brandon, I have been studying English since January, but I have to study more subjects. I'm learning the grammar rulers, Although there are many words and verbal constructions that I don't understand still, but I'm doing an effort.

I believe that I write well (more or less), but many many times I don't understand: songs, and people talking.

Do I must go to UK or USA for learning English?

Indeed...Did you understand the text above?

Little greetings.

Is it a lost cause nowadays to promote an artificial language, particularly a new one? If it is not a lost cause, at least among language enthusiasts, is there a great way to reach all those enthusiasts? Language mailing lists I have found reach a few hundred people at most.

In order to concentrate on my studying, I only did a few volunteers or paid jobs for short terms. For example, I joined the Terry Fox Run and school Basketball events; I helped to organize the store output in the Salvation Army-a second-hand store; I collected the fundraising money for Heart and Stroke Foundation; and sometimes, I offered a little help in my community’s women’s resource center and in my friend’s hair salon. From all these experiences, I learned the importance of problem-solving, customer relations-maintaining, and decision-making. Most of my study life, I lived outside with my friends, I learned the importance of caring, tolerating and independence. In addition to help my friends, I tutored Mathematics and baby-sited for more than three years. This helped me to develop my patience, circumspection, and imaginations.

Why do Americans pronounce the words clerk as "clerk" and not "clark" and the word wrath as "wrath" and not "wroth"? It's very embarrassing.

The U.S. economy created jobs at a fairly rapid rate in the 1990s, but without NAFTA, hundreds of thousands of full time, high wage, benefit-paying manufacturing jobs would not have been lost. It is also important to note that while the U.S. economy is generating substantial numbers of new jobs in absolute terms, the quality of the jobs created is often poor. The U.S. Department of Labor projects that the professions with the greatest expected future growth in the U.S. are cashiers, waiters and waitresses, janitors and retail clerks. These and other lower-wage service jobs are the kind that will most likely be available to workers displaced by NAFTA.

Economic surveys of dislocated workers shows that the jobs lost to NAFTA, in many cases high-paying manufacturing jobs, are, in the majority of cases, replaced by lower-paid employment. NAFTA also has had a negative effect on the wages of many Americans whose jobs have not been relocated but whose wage bargaining power with their employers is substantially lessened; NAFTA puts them in direct competition with skilled, educated Mexican workers who work for a dollar or two an hour or less. NAFTA was supposed to ameliorate this problem by raising Mexican living standards and wages. Instead, both have plummeted, harming the economic prospects for workers on both sides of the border.
