Well as a part of my study is Etymological study "the study of the origin of the words" Aleya عاليه is an Arabic adjective & an Arabic name for females also .It means "high standard -it's not something to do eith lengh- "
it also means a woman who is keeping it up , keeping every thing nice up& respective woman .
It's pronounced "Aa.le.ya" ==> Aa means long vowel and "" as in word "man " not as in "car"
and the "y" is pronounced as in "year".
Hope it helps.
Nice name;)

Actually it means "going up" or "rising".
It also means immigration when Jews
immigrate to Israel. When Jews leave
Israel one calls is y'ridah= going down.

Aliyah, from what my Jewish friends tell me - means blessing. And yeah, I think it's a really pretty name.
