what does this mean - Hasta La Vista?

As most people have already said, it means "Until we see each other again"; however, this phrase, although famous, is not much used in conversational Spanish; Spanish people seem to prefer the phrase "Hasta luego" (pronounced "Astah Lway-goh") - which means "See you later"

Hasta is until; la vista is the sight, meaning until we see each other again.

Same as au revoir in French, auf wiedersehen in German, tot ziens in Dutch.

Literally it means: until next time I see you. It's the same as see you later.
