Can some one please translate: I like Valentines day. Valentines day is on Febuary 14th. I spend Valentines day with the people I love. I eat a lot of candy on valentines day.
I dont like Fools Day because it is very silly. Fools day is December 28th. I spent Fools day with my friends and my mom. I sleep a lot on fools day.

I am looking for a Latin translation of the moral from one of Aesop's fables, "The gods help them that help themselves." (Ironic, isn't it?) This is the best I could come up with on my own (after two years of Latin, no less)

Dei adjuvant illos qui ipsos adjuvant.

Any comments? I'm not exactly sure if adjuvare has the right nuance for the phrase. Would succurrere fit better?
