In my German III class we are reading Kein Schnaps für Tamara, and i have been doing well, but there is this one part in chapter 5 where I get completely lost.

The character is talking to the new Mayor, who is asking upset with the main character for dancing with the mayors' secretary:

"Aber sie tanzt so gut und ist so nett (i understand all this, but i don't get the next clause and on), dass mich das jetzt auch nicht mehr stört, wenn es mich überhaupt interessiert hat."
"So, so" sagte Bricks (the new mayor) ein wenig leiser.

I get only certain parts.

I am a born and bred caucasian American who speaks nothing but English. I am required to take 2 years of foreign languages at my college to get my degree. I live in SE Texas and plan to stay in the area upon graduation, so it sounds like Spanish would be the most logical choice for me. However, I'd like to be able to speak whatever language I take when I'm done with it. My options are French, German, and Spanish. Of those three, and with my background, can anyone give me an educated guess as to what language would be easier for me to learn?
Thanks.
Oh yeah... I also have free access through the military of the Rosetta Stone language programs... does anyone know anything about those? Would they help me?

Rette Mich lyrics

She's 103 but she still has a few of her marbles... she speaks (and intermixes) English, some French, Armenian, Turkish and possibly snips of some other languages. My best guess is 'Joyous'. If you have a non-speculatory answer, my family would really, really appreciate it.

I'm trying to say 'Marriane and Jeanne d'Arc are powerful women who fought the English and stormed the barricades' in French. Can anyone help me improve this? Please no online translations. Thanks.
