I am studying Japanese, and I have a tutor. Well, I will once school starts back. She's in Japan right now visiting family, and I'm not at home for the summer either. I have lots of books, and a dictionary. I would like a better dictionary, if someone knows a really good one (or has used a certain brand, even in another language, that they like).

I would like to suggestions on how I can keep myself interested in learning, and how I can keep some kind of study schedule. I also would like suggetions on how to make learning fun, and how I can help what I learn stay in my head. I don't like learning/ reading something and then not remebering.

Thanks!

There is this really lousy lawyer who dragged his feet all throughout some job we gave him, and one of his colleagues wrote this phrase about him, but since I am not really good with english idioms, I wanted to ask what he meant to say about this bad lawyer.

If you're American, and you read something written in Brittish English, a lot of words are spelled differently than you're used to. Do you think that it is misspelled when you read it, or is it in America just another way of spelling the word. Think of center - centre; honor - honour; specialize - specialise etc. Are they both spelled correctly for you, or do you regard it as misspelled. Does it sound posh if you write like this?

Here is one situation, in which I don't know how to describe one person's behavior correctly in English. Would you please read through it and then tell me how you would describe this person.

In one private elementary school there is a manager who is responsible for providing teaching materials for teachers (textbooks, teaching props, materials for making crafts, etc.). Let's say this is the beginning of a new semester and he failed to prepare any of those materials, so all the teachers are empty-handed and have to come up with their own ideas on how to teach kids without any teaching materials. This is really a big trouble for the teachers, and it's altogether that manager's fault. Yet at the school meeting this manager stands up and says something like “we are all one team, and, therefore, we should all work hard together to make our school more successful, famous and prosperous; I really hope that all of you will improve on your teaching this semester and I expect you all to work

Hi, can you tell us how to say "No thanks, I have my own aardvark" in your language?

We already have it in many languages, but would like to check some of the major ones, and would love some input from speakers of less well-known languages, particularly African/Middle Eastern/Asian languages!

Also, if there exists a specific word for aardvark in your language, please use it.

Thank you very much!
