Hawaiian is pronounced the way it is spelled, with the vowels always sounding the same.

"a" is pronounced "ah", like the "a" in father.
"e" is pronounced "eh".
"i" is pronounced "ee".
"o" is pronounced "oh", like the "o" in "open".
"u" is pronounced "oo", as in "moo".

So...
"peni" would be "peh-nee",
"lopine" would be "loh-pee-neh", and
"apakonu" would be "ah-pah-koh-noo".

The first two sound filipino but here goes.
Peni: Sounds just like penny but the e sounds a little more like "ay"
Lopine: Low-Pee-Nay
Apakonu: Ah-Paw-Ko-New
