how good is my english?

i always tell people i speak a perfect english and i hve great notes i my english class but i don't know i would like to now the opinion of an american thank you.
i'm mexican

Quite decent but definitely not perfect.

I don't know if you know how to capitalize better than you did here, but the first word in a sentence, the pronoun "I" and languages and nationalities are always capitalized in English.

I assume "hve" and "now" are typos and won't fault you for them.

Your sentence is much too long; I would have broken it into at least three sentences, after "I don't know" and after "American".

Any of the above mistakes may well have been made by a native speaker, whether through laziness, lack of education, coolness, or just not having time to correct.

These two mistakes would be unlikely for a native speaker: "great marks" or "grades" is better English than "notes"
and you should just say "perfect English" rather than "a perfect English". "English" is rarely countable, and isn't in that context.

I'd rate you as an advanced speaker (or at least writer), but not perfect.

With the exception of punctuation and capitalization, your English sounds just fine (though I'm sure that was on purpose, a lot of people don't use punctuation or capitalization on the internet). It's hard to tell if it's perfect from just what you've written here, but it sounds great to me.

Ok, fine, I took out the Spanish part so esos gringos viciosos don't report me for using a different langauge....in the friggin' LANGUAGES section, where we're supposed to be able to share our knowledge of--shock--Languages!!! (mthompson828 is right)

I'll answer your question, regardless, your English is very good; there were a couple of spelling mistakes, but who doesn't make errors now and again?

It is quite good, although you need to work on punctuation; there's not a single comma on your sentence, and there should be at least one before "but" (it's how compound senteces are punctuated).
Also, you're obviously thinking in Spanish. Notes = notas, verdad? American English usage favors grades instead of notes. I say American English since Canadians call it marks.
I don't say anything about capitalization since you probably didn't bother with it because you're posting a question on the internet. I just hope you're more careful when you do it for homework or work.
Oh, and you don't need to ask only Americans. You just need to ask a person who speaks and writes proper English. I'm only saying that because I'm Nicaraguan and I teach English for a living.

Your writing would be better if:

In writing, puncutation is important. As far as how you speak, who knows? You've probably got an accent, but we Americans love accents!

But yes, compared to how much actual English speakers fack up their own language, you're doing fine. I would not have known had you not said anything.

It sounds like you speak perfect English but you need a little work on spelling and punctuation when you write. It is a difficult language to write, with all the homynyms and irregular spellings and tenses. You could try reading books and newspapers in English - if you see it done right enough, you will pick up on it. Good job, though!

I'm not American, English isn't even my mother's language, but I see a lot of spelling errors in your short piece of prose. I think your English is good enough to express yourself in simple situations. You'll be able to ask your way in a city, and if you go to a shop to buy some lettuce, you probably won't end up with a cauliflower. But is that good enough for you?
The answer depends on what you want to do with your English. Do you want to read English literature, do you want to understand what prime minister Blair says, and understand what he says between the lines, do you want to go to a British play? Then your English must probably be of a higher level. You can check this yourself by trying to understand the English being spoken on English TV and radio. Do you understand Discovery Channel?

May I ask why you want specifically an American to assess your English, and not the opinion of another native English speaker? Your English is not bad, but it is important that you give the " I " a capital letter, you are a special person after all. English is my first language, but I don't live in America.

It's pertty good , but then again I am also Mexican altough I have lived here almost my entire life.I would have to here how you speak to tell you ecxactly how well you speak it, because I know some people that are just learning and have a thick accent and in that case all you need is practice.When it comes to the written part you do it pretty well.

Felicidades en poder hablar el lenguaje tan dificil de ingles. Como los otros han dicho, escribes mejor ingles de mucha de la gente estadounidense aqui. Has hecho unos errores pequeños pero si no nos haya dicho que eres mexicano, no se notarian.
