We have a student who at 5 years old has been given her first hearing aids. I want her teachers( not native English speakers) to understand how to help her articulate. Any other ideas greatly appreciated.

My real question is: Since when are immigrants called aliens? I'm on this site for a few months but in the beginning I didn't meet this expression. Is it a new one or did I simply miss it somehow so far?

Do other nations substite their own country's name for England or do they have similar or different phrases?

For example, I hate 'funky'. As in "those curtains are funky", I don't know why, I just hate it. Funky should only be used to describe music/dancing.

There was an English woman at a store I went to the other day, and everyone who heard her speak commented on her accent; it sounded really pretty.

To all japanese (or concerned people) there please help

We have a Big test in foreign language (katakana and hiragana) and I want to pass. Our professor says that almost 2/5 ths of the 200-item exam is about stroke endings(but he didn't explain it clearly).
Please classify all katakana and hiragana characters whether the stroke ends in a hook, a release or a stop.

^_^
THANKS TO ALL THAT WILL HELP ME!!!
