For example, I hate 'funky'. As in "those curtains are funky", I don't know why, I just hate it. Funky should only be used to describe music/dancing.

I hate the word "scrumptious." It makes me think of a Monty Python scene, where people are discussing medieval diseases, "well, this one's poxy, and this one's scrofulous, and this one's absolutely eat up with the scrump. He's totally scrumptious."

I also hate "wholesome". Yuck. That fricative "h", that ugly "o" sound, the "mmm" at the end--it's phonetically disgusting.

Actually, I think 'funky' should also be used for a bad/strong smelling thing. As in 'the room smells kind of funky mate, better change the bed sheets'

I hate the words 'serendipity' and people who make speech marks with their fingers.

My fave word is 'moist', cause no matter who says it, it always sounds dirty.

Okay I know I'm a little late in the game but I hope you read my answer because I think you'll agree...

I really hate the word "dingle-berry"...especially when it's used in context! That is the most disgusting terminology I have ever heard. I cringe with each key stroke just thinking about it. YUCK!

Well years ago when we were in France my mum was under the impression that the French word for f*ck actually meant ''kiss''. So she said it really loudly in a crowded street and everyone turned round and stared at her... so every time someone says a word that sounds like the French word I cringe.

Just two: c*nt - because it really is crude and offensive.
Then - innit - because it isn't a word, it means nothing and people use it all the time like a form of verbal punctuation - stop it already!

Punctuation - now there's a nice word!

* How useless is this spell checker? It wants to spell offensive, offencive! Dumb, dumb, DUMB!

"Annihilate" scares me, but not because of nuclear war or anything. To me "funky" is also a smell as in "eww, that jacket smells funky" like in maybe it's moldy or something.
Ick!

Yes. Yes there is.
In a pub when some nasty little chavtart with a Peckham facelift asks:
"Can I get two Barcardi Breezers"?
Yeah, sure, help yourself.
It's MAY I HAVE two Barcadi Breezers!!!!
God I hate that.

I hate being called "woman" and "chick". Also, I really hate the f-word. I hate when people pronounce letters in words that aren't meant to be said (ex: Hola pronounced "ho-la" instead of it's meant "o-la" sound)
