Do other nations substite their own country's name for England or do they have similar or different phrases?

Though what was required of women back then (to endure without pleasure) would have been much the same where I come from (Austria), I have only ever heard that phrase used with England. And I'm afraid I can't think of any phrase that conveys the same idea in my language.
But I like the phrase. It makes me so glad to be living in the year 2006. :)

was fort Amsterdam really like Amsterdam ?
Do anything around Bandung city (site ?) really mirror of London ? New York ? Chicago ? Apache ? Sherwood Forrest ?

that would suck to have to think about england while ur having fun with ur spouse...poor ppl in the victorian era
