Standard Arabic and French are the national languages of Morocco, but most of the population does not speak Standard Arabic. They speak either one of the Berber languages (Shilha, Tamazight or Tarifit) or a language called Maghribi or Moroccan Arabic. Moroccan Arabic is not the same language as Standard Arabic, nor is it just a "dialect". The two languages are not mutually intelligible.
