What particular native American language did you have in mind? There would be little point, for example, in teaching Sioux in a region where there were no native speakers. Spanish, on the other hand, is the native tongue of over 25 million native born Americans as well as of hundreds of millions around the world. In particular, in an American context, Spanish is just about the most useful language kids can be taught.

There are people who are willing to help you out there, but a tip, don't ever try to learn from Salvadoreans or people from Guatemala. Most of those people have terible accents. I lived in El Salvador and traveled to Guatemala a couple of times. Plus my next-door neighbors are Chapinos (from Guatemala) and I can barely understand them.
My mom can help you if you help her learn English. That's what she wants. My mom doesn't have a terrible accent, and she really does know the Salvadorean spanish.
