Remember this at Christmas time:

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid December. Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring. Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl. We should have known...ONLY women would be able to drag a fat-a** man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.

Hope this helps to brighten your day and get you in the holiday spirit. Merry Christmas Everyone!

The couple I work for are truly generous people. They are very wealthy and during the holidays, truly show us their appreciation for us. Us girls (their employees) are going in together to get a great gift for them. Our budget will probably be between 100-150 for them. We really want to do something great, maybe a gift for something they can do that is different. I really need ideas here. I thought about dance lessons, but they have already done that. Thought about having them drive a nascar car, but they had already done that and went out and bought matching vipers because of it. Do any of you have any truly unique ideas? I appreciate it!!

I left the other day without tipping my hairdresser any more than I usually do, then thought that I should have tipped more for the holidays (bonus). Would it be weird to mail some money to her in a Christmas card?

I've made the typical gingerbread house from a kit for several years. Are there any unique kits out there that are not so traditional? Like one of a castle or larger different shaped house. I know I could make my own gingerbread and all that but I rather not go through all that hassle. A pre-made kit would be much more convenient. Can anyone help?

At work we're having a Christmas tree competition, but due to health and safety we're not allowed fairy lights (I understand the principle, but isn't that a bit over the top?!). Anyone have a good idea of how I can brighten it up a bit under the office lights?

'Twas the month before Christmas when all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying nor taking a stand.
Why the PC Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - no one could say

The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a "Holiday."

Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks, and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets are hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was nowhere to be found.

At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Or should we take evasive action?

2007-12-05 00:34:04 · 37 answers · asked by Christina K 6 in Christmas

It's just my Mom and I and we are struggling financially this year. No one wants to put up a tree and decorations 'cause no one wants to take them down and we aren't having any commpany. I thought maybe I should atleast put some lights outside, right? I also got a OWUI (very stupid, I learned my lesson and now am very broke from lawyers and bail) and I am worried that I'll get jail even though it's my first offense. We don't have any family to go to. We would go on a vacation like a New York City or Vancouver Christmas but I screwed that up this year! I was thinking if I could volunteer for an organization that helps the needy with Christmas gifts. We do have enough money to buy some smaller gifts and toys but I'd like to help deliver them so I could see the kid's reactions! Is there such thing as "adopting" a family for Christmas? My dog may be having pups around New Years so that is one thing to look forward to. We live an hour from Chicago so we could go there. HELP!

My hubby is a movie buff! Do you think a subscription to netflix would be a good stocking stuffer? I need something for his stocking, I already got him toiletries. (sorry for spelling). He loves movies, working with his hands (building things) and the Colts.

Muslims are Ahl El-Sunna Wal-Jama'a, not those who pray to graves and invocate the dead.

I saw that some Rafidhis here managed to deepen the gap among people of Sunna with so called "unity" questions. They only need us because they are few in numbers compare to Sunnis. Later they will attack us from behind, like they always did in history, those grandsons of Hulagu and Kisra, and sons of mut'a.

Remeber oh Muslims, what Rafidhi-Christian alliance did to our Muslim brethren in Nahr El-Bared!

Remember massacres of Muslims and intimidation they receive from Iraqi Rafidhi-Yazidi government!

Yet some bought their sweet words...

They haven't united us, all they did was they caused confusion among Ahl El-Sunna wal-Jama'a, that's what they always do.

I got this link from my brother in Allah, do you still doubt that Rafidha are a separate religion?

Even though we don't have children yet we are always talking about the future Holidays w/ kids. As a child I never believed in Santa. My mom taught me the true meaning of Christmas and never ever said "Santa's coming". I want to do the same w/ my children, however, my husband did believe in Santa and wants our kids to do so as well.

My question to everyone out there is which do you prefer? And if you believed in him as a child as well? And should I cave in and side w/ my husband?

Thanks!
