I did believe in Santa when I was a child..Children can react in many different ways when they find out that the truth..My husband and I came up with the idea of explaining to our 3 kids that Santa only had time to bring all the kids 1 present and the rest come from mommy and daddy. That way they seem to get the best of both worlds.

I believed in Santa but I also was taught the true meaning of Christmas. I let my daughter believe in Santa because the memories she is going to have of Christmas is not going to be all the neat stuff she got. It is going to be believing in Santa. I really think you can do it both ways. My daughter is only 3 and this year before she goes to bed I will tell her that Santa is coming and I will also read her the story of Christmas from the bible.

Sorry i would have to side with your husband. I found out santa was untrue at a very young age so i don't really remember believing, but i felt sad and wished i still did. I have kids now and although it feels a bit mean to lie, i think the excitement of santa outweighs it and I'm sure the kids won't hold it against their parents. It's such a short time. Might aswell make it good.

Are little ones believed in Santa yet we had a seize. Santa delivered one million present day considering the fact that there have been lots of little ones in the worldwide. they could continually seek for that one present day each and every Christmas Morning. We did this considering the fact that we've been very youthful on the time of my first baby and became into undecided if we've been going to have any money. So in keeping with annum they could recognize that they could get one present day no count how lots different stuff we did no longer have. This stored them stepping into the process the troublesome situations we had.

I think the excitement and magic of the entire Christmas experience is one of the best memories a child can have. Yes, it is important a child knows the TRUE meaning of Christmas and why it is celebrated, etc but why take away something so special and breath taking. Have your child knock at your door Chirstmas morning, and listen to the excitement when he tells you Santa came, and wants to run downstairs and see the presents. Why take that away. It's not really doing any harm.

I have the fondest memories of my parents telling me stories about Santa when I was a child. I really believed and it made the holidays that much more special.

I believed in Santa when I was small, and did the same with our kids. It was SO much fun, both when I was a kid, and then when my kids believed in him.
There aren't very many children that don't believe in him, at least before they get to be six or seven. Why not let your husband re-live that experience through your kids once you have them? I'll bet their joy will be contagious and you'll be glad you did.

Why can't you do both. Eventually they will outgrow Santa, and they will know the true meaning of Christmas.

when you have children Santa is a great way to get your children to behave.....but i do believe that the idea of santa has been forces on us by the corporate world inorder to impose materialistic values to children. We need to get back to basics
