Yes. It would be rude and inappropriate to mail the bonus.
Deliver the bonus in person. If you do not have an appointment, just drop in to say hi and drop off the card on a day when you are running errands or doing Christmas shopping.
Gifts or bonuses for hairdressers and other service providers who you probably don't have a relationship with outside of thier job (your postman, a salesman, your realtor, your banker, your mechanic... etc.) should be delivered in person.
If you are sending just a card with no gift, then it would be okay to mail it.
I would only recommend mailing the gift/bonus if you have a personal relationship away from the salon.

You should bring it to her in a christmas card. It will make her feel like she is worth the effort. Im a bartender and my guest bring me christmas gifts of leave me extra for the holidays. I ve been serving them for so long I kinda count on the money they leave me cause this time of year alot of people dont go anywhere or get their hair done cause its more important to be able to get gifts for loved ones. So they wait til after the holidays. Which means everyone who relys on tips isnt making any at all and so they count on their regulars. I know as A bartender and server we only make $2 an hour and because we calm our tips we dont ever see a paycheck. So its bad enough trying to pay bills during the holiday season then on top of it all make christmas special for out loved ones.

I have done this before. I sent a check inside a Christmas card. I never thought for a second that it was inappropriate, and I doubt she did either. She was just happy to get the extra money. If she is fairly close by, it would mean more to drop it off. If she is far away, well then it's completely understandable that you're not going to drive all the way to hand it to her.

OR either starting QB for the Chicago Bears !!! TOO, too funny. I like the fountain pen one. Since I work at a Bank, our bonuses don't come 'til after the New Year just before our Winter Gala "Un-Christmas Party." This wasn't the best of years, so they probably won't be big if we get any at all. But I'm grateful for the job. At least I don't have a wreath of pink slips in my cube.

hello there, i just read your question about tipping your hairdresser by mail. i used to work in a hair salon & no it's not wierd to send a christmas tip by mail to your hairdresser. actually alot of clients do that to their hairdressers & let me tell you something, the hairdresser is actually grateful for christmas time because of the extra tips that they receive! so by all means, do send something in the mail to her or him because it's christmas for them too. hope i was helpful to you? bb & merry christmas to you! nobrethequeen

That would be a nice thing to do, and you may get the best hair cut ever next time you go in.

Unconventional maybe, but not at all off beat... I am sure it will be well appreciated. In this day when everyone is forced to cut back alittle you will make her feel extra special for going the extra for thinking of her ..... I know I would...

i think it is weird to send her some money in a envelope, i think it is kind of too obvious which make he or she feels awkward.
