Ok so my family is big on Christmas trees. Usually we get artificial ones. Then we hang the ornaments. Just recently we bought a one year old cat. We adopted him to provide company for our other one year old cat. The new cat is very energetic and will break our ornaments if they are glass. What should we do? Any suggestions?

I won't and I'm the only person at our work place who isn't going, because I don't actually enjoy the company of my colegues, thats o,k though since I don't go to work to make friends I go to make money.
I'll be spending that night out with my real chosen friends instead.

I work with Doctors and Engineers and they are so ever picky. Last year I bought wine and it was like thanks, they are BIG wine drinkers and I couldn't afford bottles of wine that they would drink. My co-workers are buying ordiments and the other is giving coffee or teas gift baskets from Costco. I have 8 people to buy for and would like to spend about $20.00 per person. Do you have any suggestions?

You know how in Rudolph it's like, had a very shiny nose, Like a light bulb! With all those little things added. Well at the very end what do you say?
He'll go down in history, _______________!
See I always said, Like George Washington! But my boyfriend learned when he was little, Like a light bulb, burnt out!
I thought it was funny, I've never heard it! so what does everyone else say?

As Christmas approaches, many people will be agonizing over what to get mom and dad.

I've heard the complaints: "I hate shopping for mom and dad. They have everything and its just so frustrating."

If those words or ones similar have ever been uttered by you, think about this:

I will happily trade places with you. Just send a list of your parents likes, favorite colors, etc. In exchange, you go to Wal-Mart for me, pick out a really nice wreath, and take it to the cemetery.

I'm 2 months behind with my rent thanks to my partner as he spent the rent on getting his car fixed. Im too scared to tell the landlady.

Usually, I start christmas early (october) and should have everything i need in by now but have gone nothing besides a few prezzies for my 2 small children.

I always do my best to get my kids everything they want and as i love christmas- so much go mad with the tree and decorations, also the christmas shop for food.

But this year is looking really bad and fear that I wont be able to give the kids the best christams and were all going to be grumpy.

Christmas doesnt bother my partner- hes grumpy but i love christmas and just for 1 day a year try to make the effort.

Is this me over-reacting and making a fool of myself- i should be grateful i still have a roof over my head?

Anyone got any advice for a cheap christmas or some advice how to chill out?

Thanks for listening to me moaning- this is a big deal for me

So I am an atheist and do celebrate Christmas. Earlier this year I told my mom strait up that I do not believe in god, and well, I have a feeling she just believes that this is a phase. Well anyways, I do celebrate Christmas, but not for the celebration of Christ's birth, just as a celebration of family and togetherness. As a family, we have a Christmas tree, wreaths, lights, etcetera, and I am the one setting most of it up. I personally love that time of year and celebrate it well. The dilemma I am running into is what to tell my mom/family if they tell me that I am a hypocrite for celebrating Christmas and not believing in god. When I try to tell them that I do it to celebrate family, togetherness, etcetera, they just refer back to "but the holiday is a celebration of Jesus ...." Any help here from my fellow atheists? By the way, I'm 17 if that helps.
