Works party is a gathering for breakfast on Christmas Eve. We'll take about a half hour for that, work half the day, and then go home to our families and friends for the rest of the day. I go to work to make money too, but I've also made friends here at work and we all get along GREAT. I'll be spending the night out with my real chosen friends as well as sharing time with my friends at work.

i work from home, so i won't be getting invited to any works xmas party. can't say that i'm upset about it, the office christmas parties that i have been to in the past tend to fall into 2 categories :
1) loads of people drinking as much as they can, until they end up doing something stupid, ie - insulting management, sleeping with someone they wouldn't even say 'hello' to under normal circumstances, throwing up or passing out in a corner somewhere....
2) a really boring christmas meal somewhere, being forced to make polite conversation with people that u resent working with, nevermind spending your free time with.
lol - call me cynical and jaded, but i have never yet been to a works christmas party that was any good.

Yes, I am going. The owner of the company I work for rents out a theater every year and we all watch a chritmas movie, the kids are given candy canes and an ornament and of course we get popcorn and pop.

I'm going, the company I work for pretty small, so the people you work with are more friends than work people. it's not that bad. my old company which I was at for 5 years, I didn't go to one event, Christmas or leaving party.nothing! I'm like you it's work 9-5 and that's it.

Yes, but only for the free food and gift exchange. It's always a good idea to at least make an appearance at these things. It looks good to the higher-ups.

Sometimes your coworkers are more fun at a Christmas party when they can loosen up a bit. My company is haveing a holiday luncheon, so I am always up for a free meal.

I will definitely be going to mine. I have a great boss and although I work on my own there are several others in other shops and they are all smashing. I am really lucky

I don't know yet - only if it will be during the working time. Otherwise I prefer to stay with my family and with my friends.

Alcohol seems to always be involved at our parties, and as a former alcoholic I chose not to put myself in a position like that. So no, I will not be going.
