Last year a friend of mine had a little snow sled under her Christmas tree, and she had a cute bendable snowman sitting on a branch of her tree. It was so cute. I am looking for ideas for this year- I dont want to copy- but I want something cute and original.

I am a stay at home mother and a school teacher by training. I am a hard worker, and I need a retail job for the holiday season. I have never worked in retail before. What advice can you share about applying for this kind of job? Who has the best training? Which stores offer employees the best discounts? What kind of pay can I reasonably expect? I don't even know how much to ask for!

Thanks!

Jen

I want it to sort of be like a "promise" ring. What's a nice, sophisticated ring for under $300? I'd like something celtic, claddagh/celtic knots, etc. But any suggestions would be good.

I have 5 cousins and a sister to give gifts to this year during the holidays. Usually we all kind of do variations on the same thing (for example, one year one of my cousins got plain wooden boxes and decorated one for each of us with stuff we like). I'm just out of ideas for what to do. It doesn't need to be big or expensive, and I'm definitely down to do something creative. I just need someone to give me ideas or point me in the direction of where I can find some.

My family has always had a red and gold Chistmas, but i'm getting married soon and i can't wait to pick my colors! (i'm thinking maroon, sea blue and gold/silver/bronze)...or all the jewel tones.

i'd also love to hear opinions, because i haven't fully decided yet.

Has anyone ever gotten socks for Christmas? I mean just socks and that's it? I'm reading In Pursuit of Happyness and he says sometimes that's all he'd get.

My husband's family does a $10 swap of presents for Christmas. Since everyone now has jobs, I suggested increasing it to $20 which others agreed with but MIL didn't and let the matter die. We lived overseas last year and although my husband and I bought for those we had names for. My husband received his gift and I did not. I didn't panic because his brother has had me before and sent it late courtesy of my MIL. Now, it's October and still no present and we're going to be picking names again next month. What would you do? Would you ask for someone to be held accountable for not reciprocating the agreement? Would you back out of this arrangement? How would you do it?

I call it christmas I have a tree and a big celebratary feast but maybee the jewish have ideas that the christians and pagans don't Can anyone elighten me?

2006-10-24 02:56:59 · 5 answers · asked by Anonymous

Most people that celebrate christmas arn't pagan or Christian ( I guess the whole Jesus being born near the same time as yule makes it a christian festival too) either but still a nice tree exotic food and being all together in a house trying to live life to the full in pursuit of a cultural anual event that is magical and cosy. What do they do instead make dradels? I'm agnostic/jedi knight and I love Yule.
