Last year a friend of mine had a little snow sled under her Christmas tree, and she had a cute bendable snowman sitting on a branch of her tree. It was so cute. I am looking for ideas for this year- I dont want to copy- but I want something cute and original.

I can remember the year when I and a few other ladies were room mothers for our children's classroom Christmas party.

I found this idea..somewhere, can't remember; but what we did was, for two entire days, blew up balloons, to about the size of an orange or grapefruit. Then we covered them (not totally) (criss crossing this way and that way, no particular pattern) with string that had been soaked in liquid starch that you can get at Hobby Lobby or Michaels, etc.

When they were dry, we popped and pulled the balloons out and embellished the now round string ornament with all kinds of sparkly things such as sequins, beads, glitter, ivy, etc etc...

The most unique ornaments I ever saw and each one so different.

Same principle basically as paper mache except instead of paper, use string.

Was fun. :-)

I have an original bobble head snowman about 3 feet high. it holds a broom and looks like it was made out of paper pasted together and then decorated. One of a kind, or very rare. everytime i put it out people ask where did you get it. So cute.
