I have a 6 year old boy and 4 year old girl, and normally there is at least 1 thing that they really want each year. This year there isn't, and I am at a loss!! They usually get 1 "big" present each and a couple of smaller ones, then their stockings. Any suggestions, especially for the big ones??

Britain is hardly a Christian society, most people here don't care, unlike America where there are many Christians, who follow Christianity as their religion all year round and actually pay attention to the teachings of the Bible.

They make fun of people who are Christians and think it is weird. Yet they celebrate Christmas as if the have every right. Why not celebrate Eid, Divali and Hannukah? It's all about getting drunk, getting a holiday and a present. All very commercialised now, you can't spout rubbish like 'Jesus was born' when you would be one of those to laugh at those people in city centres who shout out the teachings of the Bible. I would like to hear some serious answers on this. I have asked many colleagues, none of them Christians who have openly denounced all religions, who shut up when asked and mumble something about Jesus.

wats the plan for christmas this year?
(for you?)

Going over grandma`s and snarfing down her yummy christmas cookies?
spending time with a loved one?
watching the kids surround the tree and watch the train go `round and `round?
setting up the table for the christmas dinner???
or playing with the kids with their new toys?
writing to santa
or
listing to christmas music and break into song and dance!
the holidays are such a special time....let`s try to get into the mood NOW and always!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

when i was a little kid christmas was just about the greatest thing in the entire world, but now that ive grown, i feel that its lost its magic. i obviously know that santa isnt real and all that jazz. but now waking up on christmas is all the same and opening presents feels like its lost its luster. does anybody have some ideas on how to spice up christmas this year?

What do you suggest we call this new holiday? Keeping in mind that it will never come to fruition of course. Or are we even allowed to have any holiday in the first place while everyone else has Christmas or Hanukkah, etc with their families and time off from work?

Why don't we just go back to the Middle Ages when non-Christians had no rights whatsoever? That's not too far off from where alot of Christians want us to go.

I have to start thinking months in advance.
It's my cousin and we are very close and we go all out on Christmas. We're like sisters, but not gushy about it. She is 27 and seems to have everything~~ I never know what to get her

I've been married 12 years, and every single year we invite everyone in our family (mine and his...cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.) over for a get together. Every year my mil refuses to come. She's even turned down invites to her ONLY grandchildrens' birthdays, because other people will be there. We keep inviting, but she still refuses. She says she just doesn't feel comfortable in large groups of people she doesn't know. But how will she ever get to know them, if she doesn't show? She has only seen my parents once in 12 years and that was at our wedding. Any suggestions on a way to convince her to come anyway? She's quite stubborn. But it's very important to us that she attend this year, as we've been out of the area for a few years, and the traditional gathering has been put on me, now that my grandmother is dead.

I know it's been asked before but I want fresh answers =D
I personally think that it's wrong for non-Christains shouldn't celebrate Christmas if they don't even believe in Christ. Christ is the whole point of Christmas, hence the CHRIST-mas. I think non-Christains just celebrate it to get presents, put up Christmas trees and Santa Clause decorations, and sing carols like Silent Night when it doesn't mean anything to them. I've been called selfish because of my opinions but does anyone agree with me? I'm Christain and I don't celebrate Hanukah, Ramadan, Kwanzah or any other holidays.
