I call it Christmas because it is the birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ! I think it's a shame that we have let people twist something so wonderful and holy! It doesn't mean the same thing! I also think it's pretty sad if you are to lazy to write the whole word! After all Jesus has done for us we should at least be able to write one little word!

Normally known as Christmas, or Christmas Day. Often shortened to Xmas, because the Roman letter X resembles the Greek letter X (Chi), an abbreviation for Christ.

I call it by either name. They are the same thing. One is obviously shorter than the other for typing and writing out but that doesn't make it different from the other.

For the record, no, X does not take Christ out of Christmas becasue he was never there to begin with. X is the Greek for Christos where the title Christ comes from. So they are both the same. I was told the latter by a conservative Christian pastor of all people.

Honestly, I do both. Most times I spell it out and put Christmas. But in online chats, short messages, and when I'm in a rush, I'll put Xmas.

I call it Christmas, but many call it Xmas! Not because they aren't christian, but because they want to shorten it. Xmas stared as a not christian way of writing it, but now it's standard!

If one knows the meaning of Christ they shouldnt ommit Christ from Christmas, i believe X stands for the devil which wants to commercialize Christmas and take out Christ, who represents the love and sacrifies from Christmas and make it Xmas,

Christmas. I understand that X is Greek for Christos, from which Christ comes... but it's so much better to have "Christ" in the middle of it all instead of just an X. Isn't that what it's about? :)

Christmas. it is because I do not think Christ should be taken out of Christmas even tho his birthday is not thought of much sometimes. It is family time and joy I think. the spirit of goodness, or god. good luck.

What difference does it make? Christmas is a pagan holiday that true servants of God avoid. Do some research.
