I work for the government and have just been promoted to a new position within my agency. I now have entirely new duties that I will have to be trained for, a new boss, and most of my coworkers work in a different building, however for the time being I am staying where I am. My old building was super casual. I wear jeans and polo shirts 5 days a week. The people who work across the street at my new job wear button up shirts, polo shirts and the women wear pants suits and dresses. A couple of guys (including the boss) had on ties. I of course am going to lose the jeans and my new boss said what I had on was otherwise fine and I shouldn't have to change too much. I am thinking of wearing a button up shirt and a tie a few days a week though. I feel more professional doing that, but I'm not sure whether too. My boss only sometimes wears one. Also anytime I have worn a tie in my old building I felt horribly out of place, due to everyone else being so casual.

I have a co-worker who confides in me about problems with her husband. I can't think of a polite way to tell her it's none of my business. She's a really great person to work with, but I don't feel it's appropriate to discuss these matters with her. I just don't know how to tell her. Any ideas?

I started a new job about 2 mos. ago. It is going great, and I love it. The people are great, my boss is great. However...I have a "situation", and I'm not sure if I should just keep my mouth shut at this point, or talk to my boss in private. There is one lady that works closely with my boss & I. My boss oversees both of us. She's a nice lady, but as with any job, you get to know people..Well, she is one of those people that ***** about everything they have to do and about everybody that works there behind their back. I know if she constantly talks about others (including our boss), then she is surely talking to my boss about me. She's two-faced. When my boss is around, you would think she really likes her. Every day there is some kind of "drama", and I get so tired of her bitching behind people's back. I'm about to pull my hair out. Sometimes I wonder if my boss wants to tell me she knows how this lady is, but is afraid I might tell the lady what she says. What would you do

After one person answers the question why do people keep answering it. I mean like 2 days will go past and people are still typing the same thing the very first person answered.

I decided to throw a pool party for a friend who just finished a play. I call all his and my friends. The party was scheduled for 2 p.m. today (CST), and everyone who's coming RSVPs. The problem. No one shows up. At all. Neither does the guest of honor.

The other problem: He's living with me. Rent-free. I can understand that he is practicing 12 hours a day and has one day off a week. But he decides to stay out until 4 in the morning or won't come back at all. I feel used. Any help?
