ok, my friend is a distant one. We speak twice a year. I know they aren't working out and I'm falling for her.

Ask your friend if it's cool. If not, he might not be your friend anymore. Be prepared to deal with the consequences.

Yes, its okay your not married? If not then why not? I believe that sometimes you meet certain people to meet another person. This could be one of those situations where there is a connection between the two of you. I'm not sure of the dynamics of the relationship but be careful that you guys are not hooking up because its familiar territory (your friend, her ex) and it's not what either of you expected. Otherwise if your young and single go for it!

What do you mean "if they split up"..
Is it possible you have your eye on her.. and she is just being friendly. It is natural to be attracted to your friends girlfriend because friends have many likes and dislikes in common.
To cut a long story try and find someone else or you will hurt your friends feelings. Friends last for ever lovers don't..

Think you are asking for trouble there. Consider another gal if you want to remain friends with your friend. Could be a lot of hard feelings there.

If you are out of middle school and if they dated for more than a month--then no! It is not polite unless your friend is cool with it. I did not like my friends dating my ex's

depends on how their relationship was, and if u were kinda already flirting with her when ur friend was dating her, and depends on your friend too.

if u wanted to date her, but couldn't because she was dating ur friend, then i suggest you wait awhile then ask your friend if it's cool before asking her out. especially if they had a good relationship or were dating for quite some time.

If you think she's worth it then yeah..
Be prepared to lose your friend and most of the "clique" that you hang out with.

*sigh* high school drama... so silly when you look back on it
