I have no desire to get back with him and we are on good terms but I have been distant for a cooling off period.

Look Dag it ! I already told you a million times. I'm sorry, but your new boy-toy will have to do these jobs for you.

Please, just move on with your life. Stop using these petty excuses in this pathetic attempt to real me back in.

I'm taken. I've moved on with my life ... you should move on with yours.

Ok, fine, you gonna drop 'em off or do I have to come pick 'em up ?

A lot depends on how you broke up. If you are still friends and you are asking him as a friend and he is someone who really cares about animals in general or your pets in particular, it may be fine. If his heart was broken and he may take this as a sign that you are interested in getting back together with him, this would be cruel, and cruelty is never good manners.

I don't know that it would be rude. Simply ask. He does have the right to say no. How distant have you been? Have you spoken to him recently? Offer to do something nice with him when you return....not a date, but maybe just to spend some time as friends....a movie, or something like that.

Depends on your relationship now (are you still good friends?) or are you using it as a ploy to stay conected?? If that's the case, it will be VERY transparent and he may bring the new girl home to meet your pets. Think twice.

It may not be bad manners but it would be bad judgment. If your ex-boyfriend as any ill-feelings toward you, he might take it out on your pets.

If he wants to, why not! He may even have come to luv the little critters. It would be nice of you to offer a counter service, though.

(For example, deliver to him his favorite home-cooked meal to micro-wave as he pines for you. Or if he is not, send his new rebound babe off for a day at the spa. The list goes on..... )

No, but what if you come back home and you smell this really good stew cooking but at the same time it fills you up with a sense of dread?

Not at all. I know how hard it is to find someone to watch your animals. As long as you think you can trust him (which you do or you wouldn't even be asking) why not? If he says no, then oh well, but it's worth a shot. Trust your gut.

I was just ready to respond in kind but now after reading StillNoCouch's
response to your question my suspicions are aroused. Were you seeing him at the same time as me? Let him take care of the pets, hope they piss on his couch!
