Define silly.

That's impossible, because what I define as silly and what you define as silly are going to be completely different.

since "silly" is an adjective...

and an adjective belongs to an origin which is definitely a noun for sure...and in that case it's "silliness"...

then any "silly question" would be defined as the following...

"a question that belongs to silliness" =D

i hope my answer has helped you...i found it after 72 hours of searching in the local library of the history of SQ&A =P!

There is no such thing as a silly question. A question was meant to be asked, irrespective of its direction. Just as Art is subjective, No one should place a value on someone's thoughts converted to words.

Any question which has an obvious answer is silly, unless you are testing to find out how many gullible people are out there who will come and waste their time to answer it (or maybe they just want 2 points;-)

Silly question defined = A question of which the answer is obvious, yet asked anyway :) unless you are talkin to tigger... roo hoo hoo hoo! :)

What is Silly

A question, which, like this one, is not really one, and barely deserves a less-than-silly answer.

A silly question is one that is so absurd, so ludicrous, so simple, so absolutely kindergarten, remarkably preschool, infantile, bordering on unimaginable insanity and nearly goofy.
