I'm sending out thank you notes to agencies (doctors, nurses, hospice, etc.) that aided in the healthcare of my deceased grandmother. I just don't know what is appropriate. Can anyone help me?

What's an appropriate response on a thank you note for services for a deceased person?

Your best bet is to write the thank you note in the form of a business letter, addressed to the staff's management. Carbon copy the individual doctors, nurses being thanked. That way, when performance review time comes, management will know they did a good job by you, and it might earn those individuals a raise! This is very important!!

Just be warm and open, and tell them how much you appreciated the help they gave your grandmother. They'll really welcome your note, because most people don't bother with that and it's really hard, when you've nursed someone through a terminal illness, to just walk away when the patient dies. If the family lets you know your work has been appreciated, it changes your whole outlook and response.

Generally, you want to thank them for the kindness they showed your loved one and anything special she may have said about any of the staff or anything about how their guidance during her last days were appreciated.

Thank You for your time and effort for helping my grandma (name). I know she really appreciated you helping her out in her last few days(or whatever works) here. I know i did. Just remember that you helped her and me out, and i am eternally grate full for that.
