We have a lot in South Africa. People bake cakes, and drop them in daily, make dresses for children and adults. Knit jumpers and scarves. They sell an enormous amount of lovely homemade items. Perhaps a beeter choice for Christmas shopping?.

I'm looking to be a caregiver to persons that need it especially elderly. I've given my card and # to many persons at church during coversations or over a cup of coffee, even to family members who had an elderly mom or dad. No one has every called. Is it society today? Or what?

I do not want to work for an agency because they pay minimum, and I have been cheated many a time and had to fight for $$ they did not pay me on my check for. So as a result I went on my own.

How do I network?

I have a silver star made by my eldest son (37) and a snowman made from cotton wool and the inside cardboard of a toilet roll made by my youngest (35) when they were at nursery school. They come out every year and my sons always say not to use them, but I think they are really secretly pleased. They will never be thrown away.

Today I was to take the young man I take care of to have the sutures removed from surgery he had 2 weeks ago. His mom gave me the key to her car, since mine is out of commission. The problem wwas, the key didn't open the door, so a neighbor went to go get the thingy that unlocks the door from Maries work. The appointment was at 3 PM. it was then 2:25. so maybe enough time, then Brian was late getting back from the disability board. Finally, we are on our way! Yeah, then the car overheats. My cell phone battery is almost dead, we are now an hour late for the appointment, I am wearing wool. lined and I am told to turn the heat on in the car so the car doesn't overheat. Brian has the stitches removed, everything looks great and then I am told to taste what liquid is coming out of the car, is it sweet? The last time this was done, it was dog pee, so I am not about to venture into that catagory again.
Then I stand in a pile of red ants....so how was your day?

A "Subliminal" message should be circulated as "THE DAILY ODD SPOT", emphasis on "spot", a really newsworthy, and informative question. Of course a Newspaper needs a good editor. GW.? This in intself is subliminal.

The Husband Store

A brand new store has just opened in New York City that sells
Husbands. When women go to choose a husband, they have to follow the
instructions at the entrance:- "You may visit this store ONLY ONCE!
There are 6 floors and the value of the products increase as you
ascend the flights. You may choose any item from a particular floor,
or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you CANNOT go back down
except to exit the building!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband.

On the 1st floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men have
jobs.

The 2nd floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.

The 3rd floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids and
are extremely good looking.

"Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the 4th floor and the sign reads: Floor 4 - These men Have
Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help with Housework.

"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!"

Still, she goes to the 5th floor and sign reads: Floor 5 - These men
Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, help with Housework and
Have A Strong Romantic Streak. She is so tempted to stay, but she goes
to the 6th floor and the sign reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men
on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are
impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store .

To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opens a New Wives
store just across the street.

The 1st floor has wives that love sex.

The 2nd floor has wives that love sex and have money.

The 3rd through 6th floors have never been visited.

I must take my grandchild with me in a stroller to do my errands. I do appreciate the people who help me by opening those heavy doors or holding them open until I can get through with that awkward stroller. It's been interesting to see who will hold a door open for us.

Here is the results of my own survey:
First place goes to African-American men. They have the very best manners.
Last place goes to people who are talking on their cell phones. They are a rude, self-centered bunch and will let the door slam in your face.

CHICAGO - Chicago's police department is investigating an officer's use of a Taser last month on an 82-year-old woman who was swinging a hammer when police arrived.

Officials with the city's Department on Aging went to Lillian Fletcher's home Oct. 29 to make a welfare check, and called police when they saw Fletcher in a window swinging a hammer back and forth, police spokeswoman Monique Bond said Tuesday.

Officers arrived and in an attempt to subdue Fletcher one of them used their Taser, Bond said. The department is trying to determine if the officer violated department policy regarding the use of stun guns.

Fletcher's granddaughter, Traci Taylor, told the Chicago Sun-Times that her grandmother suffers from schizophrenia and dementia.

"My grandmother is easily confused," Taylor told the newspaper, adding that the elderly woman can be belligerent but is about five-foot-one and no more than 160 pounds.

Because it isnt, the only Province I know if in Canada where it is free is Saskatchewan. We pay for our medical coverage, and it doesnt cover dental or optical. JUST medical.

Its $54 for one person and $98 for a couple. I dont know if seniors get free medicare in the USA or how that works.

I do know a lot of people think Canadians get free medical coverage. We dont, excluding Saskatchewan, and we have to pay user fees for services such as physio therapy, etc, and these are between $25 and $45 a visit. So most people cant afford to use any of these services.

I wanted to do some hand washing today. I don't do it very often but I have a couple of lambs wool jumpers that came out of moth balls for the now present Winter. I went to the supermarket to try and buy a packet of Dreft which is pure soap flakes, but couldn't find it anywhere. Has it been another casualty of the throw away society? Does no-one hand wash any more?

Have you ever left your keys in your front door overnight?

I have twice, two nights in a row. Luckily, my storm door was locked so nobody could have opened it, but, that is freaky. Can you share your experiences? When you watch a scary movie, do you check your doors more than once? (I know, that was another question). Just wondered. I do.

I can when it comes to anything in the home. I can have a drink in one hand and a ciggie in the other! Only joking people!
At work though, I have discovered that I cannot chat to customers and count out change at the same time. It's so embarrasing because I have always been on the ball. I never used to look on the till for the amount of change to be given 'cos being of the 'old school' I would just count it back to myself. Now, I look , to double check, and I wonder if my grey matter is disappearing faster than I thought.

Many times when I am troubled or confused, I find comfort in sitting in my back yard and having a vodka and cranberry along with a quiet conversation with Jesus. This happened to me again after a particularly difficult day.I said "Jesus, why do I work so hard?" And I heard the reply: "Men find many ways to
demonstrate the love they have for their family. You work hard to have a peaceful, beautiful place for your friends and family to gather. "I said: "I thought that money was the root of all evil." And the reply was: "No, the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. Money is a tool; it can be used for good or bad. "I
was starting to feel better, but I still had that one burning
question, so I asked it. "Jesus," I said, "what is the meaning of life? Why am I here?" He replied: "That is a question many men ask. The answer is in your heart and is different for everyone. I would love to chat with you somemore, Señor, but but I must get back to mowing your yard."
