If a person can't spout off on the web where can they spout off? Here the vast majority of us do not and will never know anyone personally. I don't get offended at people that I don't even know and for all you know any one of these people could be psychopaths etc. Some categories on YA are nicer and on some you can expect about anything. It goes with the territory.

If you're talking about YA, then it could be considered ranting.
If you use vulgar or swear words, they construe that as harm-
ful for children. And so it would pay for you to read the rules
they want everyone to go by to keep the text content clean and remaining in the forums.
For any other web site it depends on if there are rules for
the chat list or a blog. Usually tho, they want their content
clean and nothing harsh said. I think it depends on who or
what you are spouting off about. Especially a topic that the
majority would be in agreement with. Just watch your P's
and Q's and you should be fine.

If you give specific first and last names, addresses and phone numbers, then yes, even if you are anonymous. Computer forensic specialists would track you down for the lawyers, who would accuse you of defamation.
As well, with the Patriot Act, if you talk about threatening people, your words are as good as deed.
You can talk about society if you want, though. I rip society all the time for how stupid people can be, and how humans all seem like lemmings, following only the most foolish individuals off a cliff.

That would all depend on who reads it & how they end up interpeting what you have written. Everything has a cost of some kind. It isn't always money or points. Sometimes it is trust.

Depends on what you spout, I'd think! LOL
In this day of so- called terrorists and Homeland Security there are some things that could get one in big doo-doo.
And on this site, being nasty; calling out members names etc. can get you in minor doo-doo also.
Maybe even saying doo-doo? ROFL
