Today I was to take the young man I take care of to have the sutures removed from surgery he had 2 weeks ago. His mom gave me the key to her car, since mine is out of commission. The problem wwas, the key didn't open the door, so a neighbor went to go get the thingy that unlocks the door from Maries work. The appointment was at 3 PM. it was then 2:25. so maybe enough time, then Brian was late getting back from the disability board. Finally, we are on our way! Yeah, then the car overheats. My cell phone battery is almost dead, we are now an hour late for the appointment, I am wearing wool. lined and I am told to turn the heat on in the car so the car doesn't overheat. Brian has the stitches removed, everything looks great and then I am told to taste what liquid is coming out of the car, is it sweet? The last time this was done, it was dog pee, so I am not about to venture into that catagory again.
Then I stand in a pile of red ants....so how was your day?

Yes, one of my bad car days was when we lived in an apt near the city. I came out to get into my car to go to work and it was on my jack with 2 tires gone. It was parked under a security light, but no one had seen anything and the police said there was nothing they could do. I had to buy new tires, but it was a small car and they were so hard to find, I understood why they had stolen them. lol

Sorry you had such a tough day, hope things go much better tomorrow for you.

I have had a few but not many as my husband always did what he calls preventative maintenance . I had a dentist appointment one morning and got all ready to go and got half way out the driveway when I heard this funny thwacking sound. I got out to look and the tire was flat. It had a slow leak in it and it must have leaked out overnight . I got my husband up and he filled it which takes about 10 minutes. I called the dentist office to tell them I was going to be late and had to leave a message because the line was busy. Finally ,I left for my appointment and got there with five minutes to spare. The receptionist said she had been trying to call me to ask if I could come in later as they had an emergency ,so I had to sit and wait anyway. I got caught up on my magazine reading.
I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad day. I hope the ants didn't cause you too much discomfort!

Sounds like the kind of day I sometimes have!
The red ants would have finished it for me! Bless you!

I'm having daily 'bad car days' right about now. Have a really strange sound emanating from the ride undercarriage and it's worrying the heck outta me. Have NO money to put into this car right now and hoping it's not something too serious that can wait.

I have very low mileage on my car, but it IS 7 yrs old! HAVE to use it to work and everywhere else too..

Ah the perils of living alone and being the only breadwinner! LOL

Oh dear. What a day you had! My day today was pretty good, recovering from some surgery yesterday. I went for my prescribed 45 minute walk and the weather was perfect.

My worst car day was one morning when I walked out of my apartment to get in my car and go to work. No car! I just stood there with my coffee in one hand and keys in the other thinking I had lost my mind. Then I went back inside and called the police. My car was found a few days later.

I remember back in the 70's I had a 55 Chevy. I had an hour to get to work. I always arrived early(seeking a promotion). One day I had loaned the car to my brothers' girlfriend. She came over and said it died two miles away. I got there with my brother. We checked the entire car out. Everything was fine. I put the key in and fired it right up. I think she was seeing another guy and didn't want my brother to know. Anyway now I had 15 minutes to get to work. I worked in a place right next to a corner gas station. The brakes locked up. I could go forward but not back. I drove it to the building I worked over the car stop and left it. Went to work. Car stayed there for three weeks until a friend of my brother came for a visit and wanted to see if he could sell some brakes to a 55 chevy. Great luck. Huh?

Some days it's just better to stay in bed, as you well know.
Today was my day, it's 6:33pm and I just got out of bed, I'm wearing a nightie and no make up.
Yesterday, we got started at 4:30 am, drove for about 8 hours, met with the municipality's regarding some property, drove again until 3am.
I needed to catch up on some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's.
You did have a terrible day. I hope things improve this evening:~)

You made me laugh! I had a 1989 black Cadillac. My husband and I drove that car to death! First the trim started to fall off, then the knobs, then the leather started to tear. The car was on it's way out and we knew it. My husband had just been released from the hospital in March of this year, for his open heart surgery.

I was on my way to work. I got a block away from our house and the car coasted to a stop. I called my husband for help. He got in his truck and drove down the block to help. We had to push it to the curb, I drove his truck to work and he walked home.

The car sat there for two days before we decided it was time to move it. He put a chain from his truck to the car and got in to steer. I drove the truck at five MPH around the block. Everything was going fine until I tried to cross the street and drive into the alley. The horn went off and he couldn't stop it. He was yelling something at me but I couldn't hear him over the horn so I just kept driving. I dragged him across the street, up the curb, and over a lawn before I stopped to ask what was going on? The horn was still blowing AND he was still holding the steering wheel in his hands when he got out of the car! The wheels had locked. He lifted the hood and tore out some wires to stop the horn and I carefully and slowly dragged the Cad home. It died that day, it could have been me! LOL

Just did. Took Hubby's car to the shop for inspection last week and asked them to check out a shimmy, maybe wheel balance? Mechanic went on vacation, his helpers didn't call us. Mechanic got back from vacation yesterday, said the shimmy was caused by rack & pinion gone bad. A mere $1,000. This almost 10-year-old car is starting to cost us, but Hubby says he's not ready to get another. (We couldn't afford it anyway, as long as we're supporting his daughter's family.)

We trust the mechanic completely. Hubby was using him before we met, and we've been married 25 years.

I just have to share this bad car day story with you, a few years back i finally got my red convertible and went to work on a stormy day only to have a big old tree crash right over top and wreck the car enough that i didn't get it back until summer was over and it was to cold to put the top down. That was a bad car day for me!
