Isn't it some Island in or near New York. Correct me if I am wrong. Some others have suggested Mackinaw Island. My son in Chicago has been there and was telling me about it.
However both would be toooo cold for me, I do not take well to cold and abore snow. So that would be out of the question.
Besides I am a true California Girl, what makes you think I would even consider leaving now.

Sounds pretty boring to this Senior! And where is Governor's Island. If memory serves, I think it is somewhere off the East Coast (something like Staten Island), but if I am wrong I hope that someone will tell me. If it is on the East coast - the winters there are really horrid, and extremely cold! No thanks! I need to be warm.

Not necessarily seniors, but like Mackinaw Island (michigan), if it's paie by the taxpayers it would seem it should be more open for usage by the taxpayers. The governor Does have a mansion for private living also paid by taxes.
