I wanted to do some hand washing today. I don't do it very often but I have a couple of lambs wool jumpers that came out of moth balls for the now present Winter. I went to the supermarket to try and buy a packet of Dreft which is pure soap flakes, but couldn't find it anywhere. Has it been another casualty of the throw away society? Does no-one hand wash any more?

I see it at the grocery stores that I shop at, although I haven't purchased it in years. I do remember that it had a wonderful scent. I'd be glad to send you some!

I think that perhaps people do not hand wash articles anymore. Dreft is available still as I have recently purchased some from our local Wal-Mart store. However, most of the stores I have been to only sell the liquid Dreft (for infant clothing and such).

Not sure if you are asking about the same product. I hope this helps!

Have a nice day!

Yes, I hand wash, but I use shampoo or shower gel these days. I certainly remember Dreft, with those diamond shaped soap leaves. There were always a couple which didn't dissolve.

For undies, I throw them in the shower. Then every morning they get stamped around on, some showergel and a rinse along with me, then I hook them over the showerhead to drip dry. I wash woollens in showergel because it's a smell I have chosen, but sometimes I use shampoo.

Dreft yes, nearly forgot that one, but Lux used to be the best soap flakes, not seen that lately either.

Yes, we have Dreft and it is very expensive for a small box.

$14 dollars for I believe 10 loads of laundry.

I haven't seen it smaller as very few people do in fact buy it.

Don't really know. When I think of pure soap flakes I always think of Ivory Snow [which BTW I hated!...it was too scummy!]

I'm a Tide user...and for hand washables or delicate fabrics I use Woolite

I have seen Dreft in a few specialty stores but it is expensive as heck.

I used that for my children's diapers when they were babies. Cleaned really well and smelled so good.
