Do you find today's parents more lenient, or are they just more enlightened? I think most are too lenient, but at the same time, they have more educational parenting information available to them, if they just choose to use it.

Mine would have to be the birth of my sons, so that makes two happiest memories. Birth of grandchildren run close behind those days. But on an everyday basis... I'm happiest just being alive, seeing the beauty all around us, playing with my grandchildren.

This may be just me, but does anyone else find that if you post a light-hearted question, sometimes the answers that you get are very serious and can even wander into the realms of almost using you as therapy, or off-loading their stuff. It takes all sorts I know and I hope that they gain something from it, but I have been taken aback at times by the strength of feeling behind the answer to a light weight question. YA to me, is a bit of fun, talking to mainly a good set of people who are also fun. It also has the ability to answer more serious questions if needed. What's your view?

I work in a petrol station, affiliated to the Co-op. The Co-op Supermarket has been rebuilt, opposite us, following a fire last year. They have produced vouchers on a flyer for 4 weeks. If you spend £50 you get £6 off. Total vouchers £24!
The New store opens on 13th Nov but since 7th Nov, Tescos have been accepting, up to 7 vouchers, for each transaction meaning if you spend £43 and use 7 vouchers, you get the whole lot for £1!. We have been giving out the flyers in the garage and people have been buying 10p sweets,
going out and coming in to buy 10p sweets and going out etc. just to get the vouchers. 'cos it's one flyer per costomer.
Apparantley Tescos is 'heaving' It takes an hour to park and another hour to buy 2 articles and get out! How mad is that?

After 33 years of working in 4-star hotels & restaurant, I now find myself working in a care home for the elderly. What I need to know is how to adapt to this different style of cooking. Are there any websites that i should visit for advice and ideas. In particular, i would like to learn how to present 'pureed & liquidised' foods to make them more appealing to the eye. Online training would be great.

My new 'customers' deserve the best!

The other day I went to visit my friend who is 60, and they were all talking about paying for their funeral. It seems a funeral undertakers has opened up, and is taking orders for funerals. The pensioners are calling it pay before you die, I could not stop laughing and they are allowed to pay it up.Some are paying so much a week, can you believe it?

It can be any time of the year....For me it is cool weather, so I hunt.....I just shot my first Turkey a few weeks ago and now Deer season starts in 2 weeks.....In December or January once the ice is thick enough, we start ice fishing....I also enjoy going fishing from the boat in the warmer months.......But these things keep me moving outside during the cold months.......

I do not want to offend anyone that does not agree with hunting, it is just something we do and we also eat what we kill or catch......

I asked a question the other day regarding bad beef. Noonecanne answered with her own interesting question, and she has given me rein to ask this.
Does anyone know if there is a web site that tells you where your local grocery store purchases their beef?
Say Wal-Mart. I tried to google it, with no luck.
Any ideas?
