My step-son that had told me once that I was more of a mother to him than his own mother. From that point on he started calling me "mom".

His dad and I split up for good some time back (I caught him cheating on me). The good thing is, I still get to see the boy from time to time and he still calls me mom.

Well my friend that I've had the longest has told me twice that
she is honored to be my friend. And that she admires me for
the person I am, for all of the trials I have gone through and
still face ahead (physically). She has known me since I was
around 4 or 5 (either of us remember) and she was my only
friend for years when I was very young. Just because I was
never allowed off my yard, and she was. So I had a very lonely
existence as a child both when small and older while in
grammer school, until about 6th grade. I didn't have much
freedom to go visiting friends until I was in that grade. And it
was about then, when my twin sisters were born. And mother
had to be on the go constantly. I guess I have one good
reason to thank them for being born. Since they've been at
the root of many unhappy family experiences for me. Life has
been very unfair, but I still manage to find some sunshine daily. I'm so glad that I still maintain a good outlook most of
the time. And I am glad to have one good friend among the
others who have been "fair weather friends".

A friend was over last week and during a conversation between her and hubby, I heard him say he thought God had actually given him a good partner. He had never said this before and I nearly went into shock. Somehow it came up again a few days later and I mentioned that I had caught it. Tears just started pouring! He thought I knew he felt that way, but he had never actually said it. It makes a huge difference to me.

You are beautiful. My cousin from New York once told me that I was intelligent. That compliment followed me every way that I go. Also people always tell me that I have pretty hair and skin.

To be told that I look younger than I actually am.

To be told that by another man that he enjoys working with me.

To be told by another man that I am good at some aspect of sports or recreation.

"I watched you and wanted to be a woman like you when I grew up!" . She gave me the satisfaction of being the person I've always wanted to be...for just a moment. Wow! I'll never forget it.

That I had a nice smile. Another person pleased me immensely by saying to someone else that I was "soft" (meaning squishy soft, not "pushover" soft).
